erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (panic-group)
There's no videos (ok, I link to 1) or pictures in this one (didn't bother taking my camera), but I just wanted to post something about this, for myself. Of course, since I got really lazy once the tour was over, I didn't write much down at the time, so I don't think this is going to be very detailed about the concert. It's mostly a big happy blur now /o\

We ended up having to bolt for the train after the concert, nearly killing poor [livejournal.com profile] jocondite in the process who was a bit dehydrated and sleepdeprived by this point. And this was the time when the uphill walk back to the hotel was unwelcome. Then I had to get up at 7am, creep out as quietly as possible (which isn't all that quiet as it turns out, sorry guys), and head back to the airport for the 9am flight. It was packed, but I was back at work before midday. Tried to get as much done as possible, then in the evening a bunch of fangirls met up for dinner and squee. I was then a party-pooper and took [livejournal.com profile] not_nele and [livejournal.com profile] jocondite home after dinner, because I wanted a relatively normal night's sleep before work on the Friday and the next concert that night :D

I'll tell you what sucks - getting up at 6:15am to get ready and go to work, when your friends are sleeping in. My life, so hard. I was out the door from work spot-on 5pm, which is pretty unusual. Meant I left home, after getting changed, to drive out to Homebush about ten past 6 or so, but I was utterly paranoid that traffic was going to be a nightmare and I would miss Cobra. Apart from one bad patch, it was ok, and I got there in plenty of time.

Found [livejournal.com profile] engenda, who I was sitting with, and then [livejournal.com profile] sinden and [livejournal.com profile] hnix. Now this is how faily we are: we knew that the tickets that [livejournal.com profile] hnix and I had bought were in the same section, same row. But we'd either never compared seat numbers or got them wrong, because it wasn't until we went inside that we realised that we were sitting next to each other. Which was great, but a) almost-creepy coincidence and b) how had we not known? The seats were stage-left, fairly close to the stage and about ten rows back from the front. Good view, except the the stuff on the front corner of the stage obscured a bit of the stage, mostly the drumkits for Cobra and TAI and when the Panic guys would wander back from the mic stands, but we could see Spencer well at least.

Gathered up a few people after the concert and wandered back to hotel, still on a high of concert awesomeness. Grabbed snacks at the overpriced convenience store next door, and sat around chatting and squeeing until exhaustion overcame us. We kind of fail at setting a thermostat appropriately, and subsequently spent a rather warm night /o\

Sadly, it came to my last show (I can't really complain since I got to see them three times, but it was still sad for the fun to end). One of the great things about the shows was I got to spend them with so many different friends, in Melbourne I was sitting with [livejournal.com profile] indybrat. Ok, these were probably the best seats I've ever gotten from a non-fanclub ticket sale (BSB fanclub still pwns all). Front row of the side section closest to the stage, but at a great angle so we weren't looking side-on.

Following up from this post, I was so amused when I spotted Gabe sidestage before their set - in the hoped-for incredibly tight white pants :D Shortly afterwards, [livejournal.com profile] lisanateral wandered past on the floor, and I was able to spread the good news. I believe there might have been flailing :)
