Ack, I really need to go to the gym, but here, have this first (and wow I'm spammalicious today).

+ MCR at Madison Square Garden - 332 meg, 90 minutes, mp4
please use a download manager, don't link to my files or journal on communities, message boards, forums etc, thank you. I'd appreciate if you comment when you download, helps me keep track of things.

This is a quite watchable bootleg of MCR's MSG show in May (last show of tour), sound and video is reasonable for a bootleg. I've only checked bits and pieces, but looks complete (or close to it).
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (cab-cashsinger)
Just a few more stupid things I've amused myself by making lately. All MCR or The Cab for some reason.

+ MCR - Welcome to the Black Parade (live) - 54 meg
I've heard them sound better (the mix sounds a bit off or something, idk), but it's a gorgeously shot live performance music video of it (from here).

String Quartet Tribute albums - I really like these, though I haven't listened to all the Panic one yet.
+ My Chemical Romance - Bullets and Three Cheers - 53 meg
+ Fall Out Boy - TTTYG and FUCT - 36 meg
+ Panic at the Disco - Pretty. Odd. - 52 meg

KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas 2004 (though they really aren't almost acoustic) - fun performances, pro filmed. Gerard's wearing tinsel at the start, Mikey's got a cute beanie, Frank's in the pink hair phase.
+ Helena - 48 meg
+ Thank You for the Venom - 45 meg
+ Honey this mirror isn't big enough for the both of us - 41 meg
+ You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison (with Bert) - 37 meg
It's at the end of this that Gerard starts asking if the crowd has done all their Chrismas shopping yet, and if they get something for him, to not spend more than 25 bucks, cause you'll get a blowjob anyway.
+ Give Em Hell Kid - 25 meg
+ I'm Not Okay - 35 meg
Gerard sings a bit of We Wish You a Merry Christmas at the beginning. I could watch Frank on the floor from 3:08-3:12 over and over and over.

I was checking the setlist against this complete file at youtube (crappy quality, sound out of synch), but discovered that sadly, whoever shared the mpgs/made separate files of them cut Gerard introducing You Know What They Do (its from 13:23 at youtube).

He beckons Bert onstage, and says "We're gonna sing a song together about getting sodomised in jail if you guys are into that". When he's starting to tell the audience to snap along, Bert is all "Happy Holidays Gerard!" and Gerard stops and pats Bert on the head and wishes him happy holidays, and says he got Bert a present, though Bert's tone when he says he got Gerard a present too is weird. So doooooooomed. Bert's hair is really long here.
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (mcr - dorks)
All the discussion about the Panic unauthorised doco (oh brent :( I feel so bad for him now), reminded me about this superb example of documentary making.

Released before The Black Parade came out, it includes interviews with the guys from Eyeball Records and John Naclerio (who recorded Bullets, and whose stories are my favourite part of it) plus the usual crowd of other people with thoughts on MCR but no real connections (I'm being harsh, I quite like one of the radio djs who they interview).

Entertaining enough, in a trashy and occasionally WRONG way, if you can endure the British narrator mispronouncing Gerard the entire time.

Complete with awesome dancing.

My Chemical Romance
+ MTV Diary - 158 meg
Fantastic behind-the-scenes of Warped 05 (including blink-and-you'll-miss-them cameos by some of FOB). So many great moments, it's some of my favourite MCR footage.

Four gorgeous black and white performances, interspersed with cute interview clips.

I'm picky about covers of Queen, but I enjoy this one. The live performance is all kinds of wonderful - including watching Bert and Gerard together (and mournfully saying DOOOOOMED periodically, as one does when seeing pictures or footage from this era) but Mikeyway rocking the fuck out on THE TAMBOURINE is one of my favourite things ever.

late 2004/early 2005? Interviews, photoshoot, tiny instore performance - much much goodness. Including tales of Pete and his brother jumping off the roof (not too long before this was filmed) and their mum's reaction. Pete's tiara is modelled, and his unfortunate bout of leprosy explained.

+ Making the Video - Sugar We're Going Down - 101 meg
Patrick wears a pith helmet. Pete demolishes a fence with a golfcart. Andy throws a hissy fit at wardrobe. Good times.

Interview in Mall of America. Andy is a pussy about feeding sharks. They lose Patrick. They need a block to stand on to be regular height. Possibly Joe is actually the furry of the group.

So much good stuff, from last year. Including debating the ethics of downloading your own leaked album. Pete v Charlie over whether something is vegan or not. Clearly that's Hemingway's stunt double (or Patrick's) since you see them together. Discussion about the fake stuff for Pete's Cribs episode. Patrick warming up before the show = some of my favourite footage :)

Yes, it's incredibly dodgy that LJ are censoring the list of most popular interests. However, looking at the list of most popular interests, I discovered something interesting (to me): Taking Back Sunday are the most popular band on livejournal! More people list them as an interest than Nirvana or The Beatles. Brand New is about 30,000 behind, but still up there on the list, and ahead of MCR (but The Used beat them both).

I'm pouting that due to Easter and my not being organised, I'm going to be at work tomorrow. Sometimes, I'm home on Tuesdays, SO I COULD HAVE BEEN HERE FOR THE "LEAK" OF PRETTY. ODD. ON MTV. But no, I'll be at work for at least half a day. Then I need to come home and finish some tute questions and completely rewrite my resume.
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (mcr - raygerard)
Panic are performing on SNL on April 5th, which is pretty cool. Christopher Walken is the host. Ahahahahahahahahaha, that's ridiculously awesome.

Here's a bunch of various footage and audio that I've enjoyed and thought I'd share, especially as there's a least a few of you who are also relative newcomers to the bands, so might not have seen some of them.

footage of the photoshoot (boys playing with lightsabres *g*) and some interview bits (including Patrick singing "Almost Like Being In Love").

Pretty good quality, from Warped 06. Pete comes out to sing (that should possibly be "sing") with William.

one of the first Panic interviews I ever saw, so much good stuff (including Ryan and Spencer's childhood misadventures). You'll probably need to turn your speakers up.

+ Panic - Live105Q&A - 15 meg
It's funny - as I've become more familiar with Panic, I'm reminded less strongly of Emmett (from QAF US) by Brendon here. Good interview from late 2006. The fan questions aren't too annoying, lots of fun stuff.

Awww, couple of photos from Frank and Jamia's wedding :)

This is totally porn-for-fans: Ray lying on a bed, playing guitar.

Suddenly, my Firefox is not displaying comments threaded properly, some of the time. I'm so confused.

A two page summary of a fourteen page article? I can do it in two sentences - This is an impenetrable, densely written pile of wanky bullshit. Do not want.

Seriously, I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to write two pages on it for Thursday (I've done the other questions for that tute), I could barely stay awake reading it.
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (mcr - frank)
Yay, Frank and Jamia got married on the weekend :D

In cute-but-confusing news, Joe Trohman has a gorgeous ginger cat but no dog. So who the pug (from his episode of Cribs) belongs to is anyone's guess.

Does anyone know where I could find photos/video of Cash showing off the tattoo on his chest? I was trying to describe it to [livejournal.com profile] katienyc, and couldn't find where I'd seen it. ETA: got it :)

I'm so tempted to go to the beach, it's supposed to get to 27 today (80, for backwards fahrenheit people). Maybe if I get a lot (like most) of my tutorial work done.
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (mcr - raygerard)
Discovered that there was a Paul's Warehouse not too far from me, especially given I was going that way to my brother's place (bbq for my sister-in-law's birthday), so could not resist detouring to check out their two-for-one shoe sale. Left with two pairs of hightop chucks - green, and red plaid. Hurrah! ([livejournal.com profile] sinden: I don't remember seeing anything particularly good in your size, because a) a lot of what they had there wasn't very interesting (so much beige-and-olive anarchy), and b) didn't seem to be a lot of 9s. [livejournal.com profile] alasen: I don't know your size.)

Gacked from mcee: amazing video of Famous Last Words from the UK tour last year - for 3:45 onwards, when RAY THROWS HIS GUITAR DOWN AND SINGS HIS MOTHERFUCKING ASS OFF! I think I need a cigarette now.

First result when I plugged Pete into the random fact generator: A picture is worth a thousand words. A Pete is worth 1 billion words.

Also, one of the first when I tried Gabe: Once a cobra bit Gabe's leg. After five days of excruciating pain, the cobra died. [Gabe would be distraught!]

It appears that my Panic deluxe edition has shipped from FBR (was I supposed to get an email notification?), yay! But the tracking number doesn't work yet, I want to be able to track it's movements obsessively.

Why hasn't a release date been announced for MCR's dvd? I covet it ::grabby hands::

I deleted a comment to my SOMH (Melbourne) video on youtube from bambistarlight. If you're reading this, sorry, but didn't want people to come looking for my lj. Sure, the usernames are the same, I'm not exactly hiding, but it just made me uncomfortable.

The Waratahs somehow managed to beat the Brumbies last night. I was at the game, and I'm still not sure how. Fortunately our seats are undercover, because it was raining for a lot of the game, including ABSOLUTELY POURING during the last part.
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (panic-brendonryan)
I've been having a shit of a day (mostly my own fault, since I'm pathetic), but my mood has evened out a bit since earlier, so we're all spared me actually writing some massively emo post about my-life-so-hard. Whatever. Let's all be grateful for that, cause no one, least of me, wants to read that.

>> New dvd footage from Panic (set to 9itA) - I'm so glad I've ordered the special edition, though it'll probably be online before I receive mine *g*. SO ADORABLE!!!

>> tour update from THE CAB - Speaking of adorable...though they're ON NOTICE given their scandalous mocking of Galaxy Quest.

>> Gerard mocking Panic - days later, I'm still laughing about this.

Earlier in the week, I finally got around to listening to the Empires tracks that were posted a little while back, and I really liked them. I'm a post-Tomrad fan of TAI, and have no feelngs towards him one way or another, so it took me a while to get around to it. Me, so slow.
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (mcr - dorks)
When I was in Melbourne last weekend, we went to to Minotaur (books/comics/dvds/geeky pop culture store). And I came home with this guy.

who could it be? )
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (mcr - cupcake)
I suck, as I have not thanked the marvellous [livejournal.com profile] morebliss for the rugby calendar she sent me! Not my team, but hot rugby boys are always welcome :D Thank you so much!

Have some songs I've uploaded for various people.
+ Kanye West - Stronger
+ Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
+ Backstreet Boys - Panic
Because even if I didn't love the song, picturing Ryan and Spencer when Backstreet put out a song called Panic makes me happy everytime ;)
+ Purple Haze - Toxic
AWESOME a capella cover of Britney.
+ Julie Brown - I Like 'em Big and Stupid
+ Weird Al - Polka Power (medley)
Cause sometimes you just want some fun music

Gacked this Gerard interview (from late last year) from [livejournal.com profile] missmollyetc, I hadn't seen it before. I don't know which I love more: his previously well thought-out answer about what animal he'd like to turn into, his basfulness at talking about what he does that's romantic, or HIS OUTRAGE at the plot of Bridge to Terabithia and it's misleading advertising (and the accompanying head movements).

erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (bsb)
\o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/

Very very very awesome (though someone had the bass turned WAY TOO HIGH), and very very gay.

I love my Boys so much :D

PS - [livejournal.com profile] indybrat watched Life on the Murder Scene for the first time, and is in love with Brian Schechter.
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (mcr - dorks)
They've been posted at their myspace (list isn't complete yet). I just had to repost the link here in case someone hadn't seen it elsewhere, cause there's so many people I know who've been waiting for this :D
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (mcr - dorks)
Does anyone have Blood (Track 14 from The Black Parade) edited to get rid of the silence before it? I've been meaning to do it, but haven't gotten around to it, and someone has asked me for it.

A question about Pete on [livejournal.com profile] bandfandom_ref led to this site being linked to: Half of Us, aimed at mental health issues amongst college students. I hadn't heard about (or seen) the videos of Pete talking about his depression, overdose and therapy before. Very candid, uncomfortable to watch but compelling.

On a much lighter note, apparently Michael Guy Chislett has heard about my mental block about slashing Aussies, and has embarked on a campaign to make me get over this. His latest step is to be half-naked (or more?) in bed with Butch Walker (they're releasing an album together, but are refusing to get out of bed until someone designs them an album cover).

Typical. I don't post in a week, then I post twice in two hours.
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (panic-group)
Ok, in my defense, I was REALLY INCREDIBLY bored at work today.

I'd been talking about names, and the meaning of names with someone, just joking around. So a bit later, I started looking up the meanings of a couple that we were talking about, and one of the names was Ryan. According to the site I looked at: Ryan = king

So I got curious (and was bored): Brendon = prince. (Which made me grin and think of jokes about the king and the prince consort).

Spencer: steward, administrator (which is when I started to almost giggle out loud, cause how perfect! Spencer is the one who actually get things done while the royalty faffs about!)

Jon: God has given (awwwwww). Except...his middle name Jacob = SUPPLANTER, which is when I gave in and was actually giggling out loud.

ETA: it only just occurred to me to look up Brent. First meaning I find = burnt (or steep hill).

And then I eventually went back to reading the paper online, cover to cover. I WISH I HAD LJ ACCESS FROM WORK ON DAYS LIKE THIS.

(PS - Gerard means "brave with spear")
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (mcr - dorks)
Ahem. Those various online stores where you can buy not-so-legal dvds of shows that are not available on proper dvds - anyone bought from any lately, and have a rec (or anti-rec)? Co-worker T is checking them out for some stuff that's too hard to find for download.

Just had to freak out at [livejournal.com profile] iibnf, as the first thing I've attempted to sell on ebay was bought, and I didn't know what to do!!!1! I only listed the Backstreet tickets yesterday, I totally thought it'd take longer (and was worried about them selling, even though they're decent seats). But someone chose the Buy Now option, and as long as this goes smoothly, ::crosses fingers and toes::, I'll have gotten rid of all my spares (3 for Melbourne and 2 for Sydney), at maybe a loss of about $10-15 in total (fees and stuff). Which is great, cause they were bought just-in-case, and I totally think that's a fair trade since we ended up getting great seats through the fanclub.

I keep thinking that the title of last week's SGA episode, Be All My Sins Remember'd, is a Star Trek (original series) episode title. It isn't, but sounds like it should be.

This MCR picture cracks me up.

I keep wondering what they could be looking at. Because Gerard is OMG SO EXCITED WITH GLEE!!!, Frank happy, but Mikeyway looks hungry, Bob seems very suspicious of whatever it is and Ray...well, honestly Ray looks a bit like a sad clown (it's the droopy hair and splayed out feet). Cheer up, emo!Ray.

::hides from Torchwood spoilers and pictures floating around the interwebs::
erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (fall out boy)
Back from the first day of post-Christmas sales in the city. We only did David Jones (plus a shoe store - where I got a pair, sadly not reduced), but this still meant about a dozen bags in two hours. We did well! My sister bought me two handbags (one black, one brown) for a Christmas present.

I hope everyone had a lovely December 25th (and/or 24th, for those whom the Eve is the big day), whether that meant Christmas or whatever :) We had my uncle and brother and sister-in-law over during the morning, then it was just the four of us for lunch (at about 3pm). The bbq marinated lamb with herb sauce was just delicious, with salads and a very nice Tyrrells semillon. Dessert didn't happen til after 6pm, as mum had a nap and dad, my sister and I watched White Christmas (which I then spent a while recasting with bandom people [1]). Mmmm, chocolate mousse. [livejournal.com profile] iibnf wandered over in the evening for a while. All in all, a very relaxing day.

::is impatient:: NEED DR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL DOWNLOAD.

Apart from waiting for that, got nothing else planned today. Maybe I'll dive into the pop secret santa, or poke around Yuletide some more...

And thank you again to [livejournal.com profile] _lolapalooza for the christmasified icons that I've been using for the past couple of weeks :D

[1] C'mon, just picture Gerard and Mikey doing the Sisters routine - even funnier than Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye's performance ;) So Way Brothers instead of Haines sisters, but I kept getting stuck on the Bing and Danny roles - I was going with Ray and Frank, but I think brash, annoying writer Pete saving musician Patrick's life during the war and guilting him into a partnership works even better (and leads to Patrick/Gerard and Pete/Mikey).
