Cobra/TAI/Panic, Melbourne, August 23rd (incl videos)

My Brisbane concert recap has the setlists, and my general comments about the show are applicable to this one as well.

I take short videos since my concert pictures nearly always turn out shit. These ones range from 30 seconds to 3 minutes, and sometimes are shorter clips from the same song joined together. If you want to save the files, I've converted them to avi (from the original .mov files), as 180 meg for a 3 minute file is ridiculously large to share (so just rightclick and save). If you're watching on youtube and have the HQ option available, there's a definite improvement IMO. Audio and video quality is reasonably good, though during Panic you get a bit of the girls in front of us (they just didn't stop moving the entire show, and I don't just mean dancing).

If there's something you really want in the better quality of the original files (I haven't found a way of compressing that doesn't lose a bit of the quality) just let me know. Please don't link to my posts or journal on communities/forums etc.

Sadly, it came to my last show (I can't really complain since I got to see them three times, but it was still sad for the fun to end). One of the great things about the shows was I got to spend them with so many different friends, in Melbourne I was sitting with indybrat. Ok, these were probably the best seats I've ever gotten from a non-fanclub ticket sale (BSB fanclub still pwns all). Front row of the side section closest to the stage, but at a great angle so we weren't looking side-on.

Following up from this post, I was so amused when I spotted Gabe sidestage before their set - in the hoped-for incredibly tight white pants :D Shortly afterwards, lisanateral wandered past on the floor, and I was able to spread the good news. I believe there might have been flailing :)

okay, the part where I filmed the audience for a bit was mostly to try and capture the dancing teddy bear (it was getting DOWN all through Cobra and TAI) on film, and I did! Then shortly into Panic, they tossed it for the stage - and it fell short, alas. But a nice security guy rescued it from the floor in front of the barrier and it spent at least some of the show on the stage near Jon. William also stuffs up a mic stand move :)

Gabe comes out to sing, very briefly, dressed in his designated sing-with-TAI flannie. He makes hearthands at William! He was sidestage for quite a while before coming out, indybrat pointed him to me. He was wandering back and forth, and then proceeded to distract Carden for about half the song, it was hilarious.

Panic at the Disco
Bit more distortion in the audio at times. I didn't get the bit where someone on the floor decided it was a good idea to throw money at the band. LOOSE CHANGE WTF?
