I was saying to _bettina_ how much I loved this part of Australia, and remembered I hadn't got around to posting many pictures from my holiday there last June with my sister, so here's a handful.

Just some pretty shots around Port Douglas itself.

My sister and I went out to the reef on 3 days, and while you can find many many many better photos, these are ones we took ourselves on the third day (rented a good underwater camera).







The water is often calmer than this, that was the roughest day we were out. That's me in the centre looking at the camera.

One of the pictures? Or the rainforest meets the reef description? Cause I think I saw it being used for the whole area, though you're right, it is at Cape Trib (I think that's where we were?) where you can see reef just off the beach, which has rainforest surrounding it.

I love it up there SO MUCH :D Possibly my single favourite place to be on the planet is face-down in the water looking at the reef.
