Have watched Torchwood. I enjoyed it, mostly. Was fairly unspoiled, and think this helped. It was still kinda clunky at times, but still better than most of season 1. And it wasn't too hard to pick what the couple of minutes clip that everyone was squeeing over came from ;)

A funny, sexy romp, where the plot was so secondary to the best kind of fanservice (IMO *g*), that it was almost invisible. I'm so glad they're exploring a bit of the Time Agent part of Jack's history, I was really looking forward to seeing stuff about that in TW, but season 1 got swallowed by his past between Dr Who and TW instead.

Ianto might have said "it is more fun when he's around though.", but I think its just a rather meta-y comment about Captain Jack in the Who-verse ;)

It's probably a bad sign that I was kinda hoping that either Gwen or Owen would actually die, right? My least favourite part of the episode was easily the heavy-handed Jack/Gwen stuff (OMG RHYS DESERVES BETTER, if her comment about getting married is that no one else will have her. Also, Tosh deserves better than Owen). I didn't really have a problem with her demanding answers from him, it's more the way she does it, like she more than the other three is entitled to know.

BTW, for those who'd prefer not to see such things, the trailer at the end is not for the next episode, it's for a lot of episodes (or the whole rest of the season). Wasn't expecting that. On the other hand hahahahahahahaha omg look who's appearing on Torchwood - that was Alan "formerly of Neighbours but more recently of 24, The OC, NCIS, XFiles, Ugly Betty plus more" Dale, wasn't it? Plus Richard Briers, and of course, Freema Agyeman as Martha \o/

The only thing that harshed my squee was the Jack/Gwen thing, because no, don't go there!

Dude, I wasn't expecting Jim Robinson either! The guy seems to have parts in every show going lately.

They need to step away from the Jack/Gwen - it makes Gwen so much less likeable for starters.

And in the UK there's gonna be the Neighbours connection, unlike for US audiences. What odd surprising casting *g*.

During the Jack/Gwen moments, I have the charming memory of my housemate bouncing in outrage on the sofa going "he's such a floozie!"

But really, since everyone *knows* that about Jack, and Jack isn't actually seeing anyone, the greater part of the willpower responsibility in that situation lies with Gwen. Rhys deserves a *lot* better.

That aside, I loved this episode mightily. :)

Her message when she thought she was going to die was for Jack! WTF is wrong with her?

I'm scared that they'll mess up the Jack/Ianto, now that they've got Jack asking him out on a date and all, but I'm a bad person, cause I really want to see Gwen looking like she just sucked on a lemon, when she realises that Jack's possibly trying to have a relationship - and it isn't with her.

Generally, the episode was hilarious!

YES, it would have completely redeemed her for me if she'd turned all scared and determined and been halfway through saying "Tell Rhys... tell him I--" when the car Spike totally stole from Angel's S5 stash rolled up1 and the syringe-biting Jack barreled out and yadda yadda heroboots. That would have been so *right*.

1 I know, I know, it was the blowfish's car. But in *my* world it was Angel's. *g*

So Captain John is Spike, post-Shanshu who somehow ended up in the future? I'm willing to bet that's already been written, huh? *g*

And yes, if her "last" thoughts had been for Rhys rather than Jack, she would have definitely gone up in my estimation.

I'm torn between rewatching the kissing scene and the one where Jack asks Ianto out on a date!! Both are made of win, but Jack/Ianto wins, because that scene is just so freaking wonderful. Heee.

So do I! This show needs the humour. Plus, I like the humour. Now, if only we could get Ten on this show, and maybe Ten/Jack/Ianto! (A girl can dream, can't she!)
