Have watched Torchwood. I enjoyed it, mostly. Was fairly unspoiled, and think this helped. It was still kinda clunky at times, but still better than most of season 1. And it wasn't too hard to pick what the couple of minutes clip that everyone was squeeing over came from ;)
A funny, sexy romp, where the plot was so secondary to the best kind of fanservice (IMO *g*), that it was almost invisible. I'm so glad they're exploring a bit of the Time Agent part of Jack's history, I was really looking forward to seeing stuff about that in TW, but season 1 got swallowed by his past between Dr Who and TW instead.
Ianto might have said "it is more fun when he's around though.", but I think its just a rather meta-y comment about Captain Jack in the Who-verse ;)
It's probably a bad sign that I was kinda hoping that either Gwen or Owen would actually die, right? My least favourite part of the episode was easily the heavy-handed Jack/Gwen stuff (OMG RHYS DESERVES BETTER, if her comment about getting married is that no one else will have her. Also, Tosh deserves better than Owen). I didn't really have a problem with her demanding answers from him, it's more the way she does it, like she more than the other three is entitled to know.
BTW, for those who'd prefer not to see such things, the trailer at the end is not for the next episode, it's for a lot of episodes (or the whole rest of the season). Wasn't expecting that. On the other hand hahahahahahahaha omg look who's appearing on Torchwood - that was Alan "formerly of Neighbours but more recently of 24, The OC, NCIS, XFiles, Ugly Betty plus more" Dale, wasn't it? Plus Richard Briers, and of course, Freema Agyeman as Martha \o/
