Honestly, I'll probably defriend people who use spoilery icons on posts. One of my big things in fandom is that I choose to remain as unspoiled as possible, and that's incredibly rude IMO, so I probably shouldn't have them on my friendslist, since we'd obviously have very different ideas on things.

It's not like the squee and people's comments outside cut-tags don't give away enough.

Yeah.. it is a nasty way to spoil people who prefer to remain in the dark. I was fairly careful when I posted to my journal as I knew you would be avoiding spoilers - I was not so careful eleswhere as I knew the community was *waiting* for the spoilers.

If I care enough about a show to watch it, I avoid the spoilers. It's just particularly noticeable this time, because EVERYONE is talking about it.

I'll download and watch within a a day or two. No idea about when it'll air in Australia, took forever for S1 to get shown (and it was on a different channel than airs Dr Who, and the TW finale didn't air until just after Utopia was shown).

I totally accidentally saw a picture whilst looking up the air dates, I couldn't resist the link and instantly regretted it. Oh, well.

However, I am completely spoiler free for almost all of my other shows so I understand why you don't want to be spoilt. I like not knowing what comes next, it's part of the enjoyment of watching for me. If I know what's happening at the end of the episode, what's the point, you know?

I tried so hard to avoid spoilers and I haven't come up against many, but my f'list has been--the Torchwood community, someone posted .gif icons from a trailer without a cut tag, and someone blind-linked me to a trailer assuming I'd already seen it. I don't know, normally I'm the one to leap at spoilers! But for some reason, with this show, I don't want them. I was hoping to be all aflail with surprise, you know?

But I've only been a little bit spoiled, so I still expect some surprises. ;-)

Do you know what would be good, as revenge for being spoiled? You should write a bandslash/Torchwood crossover.

For no adequately explained reason, Torchwood has to capture an alien at a MCR show (and as the youngest member, Ianto is the one having to go undercover as a fan)! Patrick gets abducted by aliens entranced by his singing voice! Gabe's intelligent cobras show up! Jack suspects that Ryan Ross *is* an alien!

What? It'd make *me* feel better about you being spoiled ;)

Ha, back when I was just getting into bandslash, I told misspamela that I wanted a Jack/Pete Wentz gay-off! Jack would win of course for the not being afraid to admit he likes the p33n, but it would leave Pete in a Hilariously Awkward (naked) Position with a wait, what kind of look on his face! So really, everyone wins!

And then I laughed for like, 20 minutes. *grins*

Ha, Pete's not used to playing Gay Chicken with someone who isn't going to say no to anything ;)

And now I have this image of poor Jack, stuck on some sort of tour with all the guys, thinking that he's landed in a pile of hot available eyecandy - but Pete is straight below the waist, when Gerard shyly offers to show Jack his art it turns out that it isn't a lame pickup line, William won't speak to him after finding out that Jack thought he was a girl, and being inducted into the Cult of the Cobra really wasn't what he thought it was going to be.
