Georgette Heyer film
Nov. 20th, 2006 04:31 pmLocal Georgette Heyer fans may be interested in this:
ABC, Tuesday 1.55am - Reluctant Widow.
It's not a great adaption, but there are some fun moments (as far as I can recall) and it does explain why there aren't more films based on her novels (apparently she refused after this). Pity, there's so many of her books I'd love to see good movies made from (Talisman Ring, for starters).

I think I'm going to start off asking potential friends whether they like Heyer. It seems to guarantee niceness, intelligence and appreciation of banter.

Date: 2006-11-20 07:27 am (UTC)But I think I'm mixing it up with The Reluctant Widow and The Toll Gate. And I've been haunting Amazon marketplace for that and the Unknown Ajax for a while. I have a copy of Ajax... but it's missing the last two pages!
