Maybe next year
May. 28th, 2005 07:28 pmThe Crusaders won the Super 12, beating the Waratahs 35-25. As they were leading 28-6 at one point, the boys did well to come back that far, but it was too little too late.
The better team on theday night won, but it's frustrating as we can and have played so much better.
I'd be feeling more optimistic about our chances of building on this next year in the expanded Super 14 competition, but we're losing several key players. Nathan Grey is off to Japan, Cannon and McKay to the new Perth team, Western Force (I so want to call them the Western 4orce), and Harrison's playing in Ireland.
And he might be as ugly as sin, but damn I love Phil Waugh so much. Never gives up, and is always there.
Off to drown my sorrows in Dr Who.

Date: 2005-05-28 10:23 am (UTC)also, I hate YOU, missy. I don't have the rugby channel as part of my satellite service anymore, so I'm watching delayed coverage. I was blissfully unaware of the score until I SAW YOUR POST. sjkdahfkjdsahfkhdsa. ahahahaha...it's okay, though-- WE WON SO IT'S ALL GOOD.
also, WE WON.

Date: 2005-05-28 10:28 am (UTC)To make up for it, Chris and JC are going to join a rugby team just for you. Chris is going to be halfback, and JC out on the wing. They're not very good, but they like slapping each others ass a lot.

Date: 2005-05-28 11:53 am (UTC)oooh, but I do so like the idea of JC and Chris in a rugby team. yay ass-slapping! also, JC would totally be a fabulous winger. he has the hair for it :D

Date: 2005-05-28 12:34 pm (UTC)It makes me ohsosad that there isn't a rugby!AU for pop (or any fandoms that I can think of, though I suspect Bodie plays some in the occasional Professionals story).
I want to write one and describe it as a hooker!AU to fuck with people, though sadly, none of the boys in either group are built like hookers or props. They all have necks.
Kevin would play second row, I see him as the John Eales type, while Nick and Joey would totally be in the back row. I'd probably have to move JC from the wing (fullback?), cause I'm putting Howie and maybe AJ out there. Old school wingers, when skinny fast guys could play out there and not get stepped on by the likes of Jonah Lomu or Lote Tuquiri (and it's all about their hair too!). Brian could be in the centres, he's small too but strong. I like the idea of Chris as halfback, yappy little guy who's always this close to insubordination with the ref, and tackles way above his weight range (hi George Gregan! *g*) Justin as the pivot at five eighth, and Lance as another centre cause I'm running out of positions in the backs *g*.
Tragically, I have no plot or ideas or anything, I just like to sparklycast my favourite sport.
Wanna know something neither cool nor interesting and only slightly relevant? I have a toy sheep (wearing a all black jersey and carrying a football) I got in NZ when I was 16. Sean has watched many Bledisloe matches with me.

Date: 2005-05-30 01:12 am (UTC)however, JC as fullback has my approval. and yeah, a rugby AU would be fab...we could always skip over the game details and just go right to the after-match showers. hee.
a toy sheep called Sean! that is so very fabulous :)
