Given the popularity of the various remix challenges, maybe we could have a mash-up challenge (crossover stories! I'm so in the mood for some wacky multi-fandom crossovers) or a cover version challenge. Which could be either a crossover where it's characters from one fandom in the setting of another fannish universe, or, rewriting a story from one fandom to be about characters from a different fandom. Wow, I just seemed to have invented a new excuse for plagiarism - "I wasn't stealing their story, I was writing a cover version". Maybe we'll file that under "ideas I had while I was trying to get to sleep that I should have forgotten overnight".

I love stories where characters get outed or come out. A lot. Not just popfandom, though I love it there too. And I can't get this out of my head - Lance comes out/gets outed, and Chris's only public comment about it is "that anyone who was surprised by Lance Bass being gay just wasn't paying attention". I really should write one of the many plot bunnies involving outing that I regularly contemplate. Hah! Me actually writing something as opposed to just talking about ("oooh, to get revenge on Nick, Paris outs Howie. On live tv at a major event!" type thing).

Comments in this post inpire me to ask - what is your favourite endearingly silly (or stupidly endearing) thing that an object of fannish interest has said or mis-said? Interviews, bloopers, appearances, whatever.

Grima Wormtongue joins a boyband! And all his music like totally fucks with people's heads, specially during royal command performances.

As for actors saying silly things, Lewis Collins is still my favourite with: "I want babies, but I don't have a woman. I don't know why a woman has to be involved."

Mwahahaha! Lewis is a source of delight ;)

And Grima in a boyband is a nice twist, you think with that sort of crossover, it's gonna be Legolas.

Legolas would be the very pretty one with the very high pitched voice who says things like: "I'm in a boy band" or "I like to sing." Grima is the creepy one that has to be trained to take a bath by his production manager, but sings wonderful background harmonies and writes all his own music, and always gets slashed with the big boofy one who grows awful beards. Probably Eomer.

Oh, and Grima falls in love with Paris Hilton, but he is the first and only man she ever rejects.

Oh my god, this is the best pop-meets-LOTR ever! And there have been others that I've quite enjoyed, so it's not empty praise :)
