Today's SMH, Spectrum section - feature article/interview with Robert "Fritz the Cat" Crumb. I think I know a couple of people who are fans, so I thought I should mention it :)

I grabbed Diana Wynne Jones' "Deep Secret" to re-read on the train to work this morning. One of the main characters is Rupert Venables. One of the first things I did at work this morning? Involved someone called R Venables. I'm being stalked by a Magid!

I think the thing that I'm most looking forward to at Christmas is the 100+ new pop stories to read, when this year's Don We Now Our Gay Apparel goes live. We have our family do at lunchtime (which lasts most of the afternoon *g*), so my plan for Christmas night is to relax in front of the computer, stuffed full of food, drink in my hand, and read. Last year, I worked through the alphabetic-by-recipient list, top to bottom, and I think I'll do that again. That way, the pairing is a surprise, and I'm not tempted to read all my favourite pairings stories first off. This year, I'm making it a goal to jot down feedback as I go, to send once authors are revealed. I didn't send nearly enough feedback last year.

How do you SeSa?

I was thinking about that this afterno9on. I usually read my favorite pairings first, but I think this year I'll do what you said, and read down the list of recipients. I'll probably be able to read mid-afternoon and late night. I'm very excited.

New stories!!

I'm wondering if I can get through them before the authors get revealed. Last year I didn't, I just ended up so busy between Christmas and New Year that I still had a chunk to go :)

Same here. But I think this year I'll be less busy and can just read, read, read. I like to read them before I know who wrote them.

Yeah, I'd prefer to read before knowing who wrote them, even more than making the stories last longer *g*.

I usually start at the top... And the jotting down ideas is good--last year, by the time I got to the last story, I'd long since forgotten not only what I wanted to say, but which stories I wanted to say it about. *grins* Pretty sad, huh?

Sounds very familiar :) Though of course, if I'm relaxing with a drink or two, any feedback notes I make on Christmas night might not make a lot of sense *g*.

I'll save all the stories on my hard disk and then transfer them to my PDA to read. That should last me a while, I'm a slow reader ;-). I'm going to write down notes and then feedback when I find the time. Of course, the first story to read will be the one for meeee! :-D

Actually, I might read one out of order. I'm not participating, but I know of one story that I kind of helped a little with that I cannot wait to read *g*.

Last year I read my favourite pairings and then a few of the rest but this year I've branched into actually liking other parings so Ill probably do the reading from the top thing.

The thought of all that new fic makes me quite giddy :D
