No soundcheck for me

Apparently the winners of Australian soundcheck passes have been sent out. And I failed in not getting my hopes up about it, cause I'm pretty down that I didn't. Maybe I'm psychic and my depression last night (random weepiness and insomnia, what fun) was actually in anticipation of this?

Anyone have better luck than me? Hopefully someone I know will get to go.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...

As I left the office this afternoon, a familiar smell filled the streets, the air was hazy, and little white flakes swirled around me. Oh, Christmas ash, I'd thought we might not see you this year. Ah, bushfires. Tis the season, after all.

And this one was quite near my grandfather's place, but not too close, luckily.

I was so bored for a significant proportion of today, the department I'm working for is fairly quiet this week, I was begging for the phone to ring. I should be savouring it before OMGSOHECTICHEADWILLEXPLODE January, but that doesn't alleviate the boredom that much.
