erilyn: gabe and mikey's hips (pretty)
In less than five weeks, I'm going to have a special Canadian visitor (yay!), and I'd love help with figuring out what we should do while she's here. She'll have about a week or so in Sydney, and I've started making a list of suggestions.

Beaches
Taronga Zoo (take ferry)
Opera House/Harbour Bridge/Botanical Gardens/The Rocks/city
Art Gallery (Pissaro exhibition)
Sydney Aquarium (and Darling Harbour)
day trip through Blue Mountains
Luna Park
Outdoor cinema
Pittwater

I'm looking for more suggestions, from locals or people who've visited Sydney (or want to) on where we should go and what we should do. Also, good inexpensive places to eat (no seafood places though) and fun places to shop.

Oooh, and best things to do on Australia Day (I've been looking at dinner cruises to watch the fireworks - $95 per person is far more reasonable than I expected but still a bit pricey)?

Of course, the more the merrier, so anyone free then is invited to join in the perambulations around Sydney!

Learn me, o friendslist!

A-ha, it is finally the twentieth there too, so I can wish a very Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] fuskeez!

I'm wearing a rather jaunty santa hat at the moment. It's really quite fetching, despite red so not being my colour.

Thanks to Sue J, here's Nick, Howie and Brian presenting at the Radio Music Awards, December 19th. With Kelly Monaco (sp?) from General Hospital and Dancing With the Stars (I know there's some GH fans around here *g*).

I got the last of my marks on Sunday (not sure when they went up, but that's when I checked online). Eight distinctions (and we don't have high d's here). pulls muscle patting self on back

I was so glad SBS finally aired Asterix and Obelix vs Caeser on Sunday night. I adored the comics when I was growing up, and saw the sequel, Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra at the French Film Festival a couple of years ago. The sequel is better, but this was still very silly and very entertaining. Sadly, it didn't involve the classic line "The Gauls are revolting! The Gauls are revolting!" once, probably because that pun was inserted in the English translations I guess. I hope Mission Cleopatra airs on SBS soon, we've been waiting impatiently for both movies to move from the World Movies channel (which we don't have) to free-to-air :)

Good luck to all who wrestle with their SeSa stories this night! I know you can do it!

Wooooo! Am downloading new SGA!
