A mention of JC in an Australian newspaper! The world must be ending!

Well, actually it's not ending, cause the mention is related to Paris Hilton.

In today's Daily Telegraph, in the McCabe & Matt column in Sydney Live section (music and entertainment). Typos are probably my own. Accompanied by a little picture of JC reclining in pink shirt/black jacket (one of the ones used a lot lately).

N*sync member JC Chasez has failed to follow in bandmate Justin Timberlake's footsteps in the solo-star stakes.

His collaboration with Basement Jaxx, Plug It In, has met with far more success than his debut solo album, Schizophrenic.

So he has put his talents to another use: helping pal Paris Hilton with her own debut album.

"She just asked me for some input and things like that and I'm willing to give it to her," JC said this week. [Now, stop sniggering].

"She has been a great friend to me for a few years so when she wanted my ideas I threw some her way.

"Whether she uses them or not we'll see. But she's got something in store for everybody. I think everybody will be pretty surprised."

Surprised by Paris Hilton? We sincerely doubt it.

Converting vob files to wav files with DVD2AVI

Spent a while googling and searching download sites for a different way to extract audio files from dvds, as the old tried-and-true method of graphedit wasn't working in this case (A Night Out dvd). Eventually came across thread on some message board about using DVD2AVI for audio. I have this program, and used to use it for converting dvd to avi files before acquiring the improved version of VirtualDub from kirsch (thanks again! *g*). But I only used it for video, as apparently there are nearly always synch problems if you do sound too, or something. I was just following the instructions at Nicky's Digital Guide site.

But basically, DVD2AVI makes wav files from vob files, quite quickly, and you can select which track of the dvd to work from! Just what I needed, and I already had it on my computer! *g* And I know this will be of interest to virtually no one, but if I don't put it in here, I might forget how to do it in future :)

Maybe now I'll be able to make the A Night Out mp3s!
