One of the many reasons I try to avoid spoilers - when you inadvertantly learn something interesting, that you can't wait to see, and your anticipation builds throught the week, you might be let down when it doesn't turn out as you thought.

Or you might be distracted from an otherwise good episode because you're waiting for something to happen WHICH NEVER DOES. And you realise it must be a spoiler from a future episode and you have to wait longer!!! >:(

Though it could be worse...the Glee alternative is to be let down when even after something gets used in promos, it gets left on the cutting room floor and isn't in the episode, and you only ever find out the context because fans raise thousands of dollars and buy the script at a charity auction. Glee >:(

Or they just lied to you to punish you for being a Glee fan. That'll learn ya.

Hey, I've finally learned my lesson. When it comes to Glee, my plan is to let fandom pre-screen the episodes for me, and I might watch clips that come particularly recommended (like if Kurt and Blaine ever kiss again).

Blaine's punching above his weight level and they both know it.

I didn't even know new eps were being shown, but then I missed the start of an unexpected season of Futurama, too.

No, new eps of Glee aren't until September. I was talking about a missing scene from the Christmas episode last season, there were promo pics of Blaine giving Kurt a present, but the scene was cut from the show (and lo, Klaine fans were vocally upset). Within a day of the ep airing, it was revealed that the present was a homemade promise ring (and the same person claimed the scene would be on the dvds, but very few believed that, cause they haven't included cut scenes on the dvds for seasons 1 or 2, and yup, no sign of it).

But recently, fandom bought the shooting script at a charity auction, and got the incredibly over-the-top speech from Blaine to go along with the ring (and a bunch of other interesting little details that didn't make it to the screen, especially for Kurt/Blaine and Brittany/Santana). Now the same group have also organised fundraising to buy two more scripts at charity auctions, so it'll be interesting to see what else is found.

The show that actually started my spoiler musings in this post was Teen Wolf, and I was just consoling myself that at least I should get to see the spoilery storyline that I'm looking forward to, unlike with Glee, where you can be spoiled for stuff that then never happens (there's actually been multiple things in teasers/promo pics/official episode summaries that have been cut at the last minute, the show is so disorganised).

Congratulations, I am pleased to inform you that you have won Understatement of the Year!! Expect your trophy and cheque in the post in 4-6 weeks.

I have to say, though, when I heard the plans that were afoot, I shook my head all, "Oh, those crazy Klainers...". But when the box scene was finally unveiled, Me = Goo. Puddle of goo. Oh those boys.

Ah-hahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahaaaahahahahah. ::deep breath:: Ah-hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.

Right. Like that's ever going to happen again. ::sourface::

If we're really really really lucky...they might hug again someday!

The final straw for me in terms of really watching Glee was the finale - so many problems, but when it was made abundantly clear that Kurt wasn't actually the hero of his own story, and that the whole fucking season-long NYADA mess was just as a supporting prop in Rachel's storyline (and that the character was going to get no reaction scene to missing out), that was the show telling me to run while I could.

Also, they made Rachel getting to NY to follow her dreams, something I've looked forward to for 3 seasons, fall flat. That takes a special kind of incompetence.

Got your phone message. Yep - wanna see Spider-Man, even though he's so ugly he makes my flesh crawl.

Also, can't phone Victoria - I have to sit in on a Ph.d presentation, then prepare and run a student disciplinary session (horrifying, I couldn't sleep last night dreading this) so no phone calls today. Give her a wet willy from me.
