erilyn[I guess there should be a spoiler warning for the Glee Live concert movie for stuff further down the page (alas, this wasn't the show that was filmed for the concert). Just in case.]
Before I left for working this morning, I saw the news from the final Glee Live concert (still in progress) spread via twitter, tumblr and other Glee forums - allegedly Naya Rivera (Santana) had come out onstage during the skit and kissed Heather Morris (Brittany), and then Darren Criss (Blaine) and Chris Colfer (Kurt) kissed too. At first, people were almost too afraid to believe it, thought everyone was being trolled, but it was true. Fandom erupted! THEY KISSSED trended on twitter! Alas, video hadn't surfaced before I left, but oh, the wait was worth it.
Because beyond any fandom-specific enjoyment, how fucking awesome is it to see an arena full of people, at a concert for a mainstream hit tv show, going crazy for two teen queer couples kissing? :D
(this is the best quality I've seen that had both, though I actually prefer this one for the Kurt/Blaine part, can see their faces better without the glare for more of it).
Probably the absolute best part for me, beyond the kisses, is the poem that Chris Colfer wrote for Kurt to read to Blaine. This is epic and hilarious and just makes me love Chris Colfer even more (which I wouldn't have thought possible).
Some context - there was only 1 skit as part of the concert (they are more-or-less in character for the show), where Brittany announces that after striking out on the last tour because she was after Kurt (only skit on that tour I believe), she decided to set her sites on someone she could have - unfortunately, this turns out to be Kurt's boyfriend Blaine. Blaine lets Brittany down easily, Kurt appears to tell Brittany to stop hitting on his man, she leaves, Kurt (after increasing amounts of shenanigans) asks Blaine to join Glee club (and Darren is in the New Directions group numbers at the end of the show). And I'm not kidding about shenanigans - it started out with small customisations to various cities, grew (and in length too) to include costumes, leprechauns and commemorative plates (handmade by Chris Colfer). It's been fucking hilarious to follow, I'm so sad the tour is over.
