Please, oh wise friendslist, help me with a project I may or may not be working on.

What are your favourite slashy moments from The Sentinel and The Professionals?

I'm especially thinking stuff that fits classic buddy cop show slash tropes (eg near death experiences, like Discovered in a Graveyard and Sentinel Too), but throw anything at me. If you can't think of the episode, just give what details you can think of, hopefully I can figure it out.

Alternatively, what do you think are the classic slashy scenarios from the episodes for buddy cop pairings like these shows, S&H, Hawaii 5-0, Due South etc etc?

OMG these guys love each other so much ♥ And my love for Cowley cannot be textually rendered, seriously.

The Sentinel - anytime B. got hurt? Wasn't there a scene in a fountain that as only missing an actual kiss?

That's the time he died in Sentinel Too, and Jim brings him back from the dead when their spirit animals merge in a heart-shaped flash of light :D

Any moment when one guy is under some sort of stress (drug-induced, big NOOOOOOO moment, etc) and the other guy has to give him a big hug under the guise of pulling him back or away from something. I just saw that one played out in the Criminal Minds episode "100", so it's at the front of my mind right now :)

Also - h/c. Any h/c. See icon :)

There's the time in Mountie on the Bounty when the ship Fraser and RayK are on is sinking, and Fraser has to introduce RayK to the concept of "buddy breathing" to keep him from drowning! Definitely a classic moment.

The episode with the boat, and they're out on the lake/river trying to defuse the bomb under water, and Bodie comes up all sad faced and then grins at Doyle. (See icon.) Favourite Professionals moment ever. I have it in my head that it's from "Private Madness, Public Danger" but I think that's wrong.

thanks!

Nope, you're right on the episode, and right on it being a great moment :D

The bit at the end of... Golden? The one where Blair ate the hallucinogenic pizza. That's pretty classic slash right there. It's hard to pick out favorites from the The Sentinel, because honestly I think I'd just flail and point and go "the whole thing!"

Thank you! :)

I know! I think the thing I'm working on may turn into a Sentinel-only pimp, cause I'm not sure I have time (before upcoming fan gathering) to put together the other thing I'm contemplating.

There's an episode of Due South in which Ray V and Fraser are in a plane that crashes in the Canadian woods, and Fraser gets amnesia, and Ray V has to like, carry him back - combining all kinds of slashy tropes (amnesia, huddling for warmth or similar survivalism...)

RayK and Fraser were pretty much always huddling for warmth, buddy breathing (basically an underwater makeout although I know [livejournal.com profile] china_shop, and others, feel strongly that this doesn't count because if that's not Fraser trying to save Ray's life then it really changes the perception of Fraser's character. This is reasonable but COME ON LIPLOCK), etc.

Are you looking for visual stuff (like for a vid) or stuff you'll explain textually/with clips? There's also the thing where RayK hits on Fraser's sister, which I find slashily interesting (related to the old boarding-school story trope where homoerotic tension was defused by having the protagonist marry his best friend ..... 's sister).

I was trying to think of the great buddycop cliches that crop up in multiple shows, to inspire me in a video showing similar scenes between Pros, Sentinel and NCIS LA. Honestly, I think at this point I don't have time before Sinpozium to make what I'm imagining, and will backburner it until I have time to do a big buddycop lovefest with Due South and Starsky & Hutch and more too :)

But thank you for the suggestions, they will be used!
