I feel so manipulated by Jean's death and the funeral, but the acting and emotion was so good, that I'm okay with it. It didn't make me cry, but I was really moved when Will had to talk for Sue. When I gave a eulogy at my grandma's funeral, I really started to lose it during the first sentence or so, and my sister came and stood with me, and almost had to take over.
I think that's the best Sue episode we've had for most of season 2 - so much of the time she's been so pointless. Not sure what they're gonna do with her next season though. Maybe they'll finally do the obvious - she'll help coach the Glee club for real, and her multiple national championship winning experience will be what helps them win Nationals next year (no way will they win this year). Loved the Sue and Kurt interaction.
Please please please please let Terri be gone for good (with an awesome little cameo from Howard Bamboo to see her off!)
"Pure Imagination" was gorgeous.
With the auditions, I thought it was well done that, none of those songs came close to being my favourite that we've heard from any of those four people (and Artie and Tina didn't want to audition wtf?). And all of them should have been shorter. But yay, they're finally gonna do what I've wanted for two seasons - no featured soloists in a competition!!! I will bet actual money Rachel still sings the majority of the leads though :\
I would watch a tv show about Jesse St James, Reality TV Show Judge.
Finn/Quinn version 2.0 has never made sense. Why did he get back together with her, after everything last season, when he couldn't forgive Rachel for what she did? Why did he break up with her now? Why should we want him to get back together with Rachel? Just give him more brotherly stuff with Kurt.
I'm willing to suspend disbelief in so many ways for this show, but New Directions is going to Nationals with no rehearsed numbers, just a plan to write original songs before they get there? They deserve to lose.
There was a sign behind Finn during Rachel's imaginings during her audition for the NESSY CLUB (complete with picture of Loch Ness monster).

Date: 2011-05-18 09:13 pm (UTC)I lost it a little during the eulogy (ohh, been there/done that, would like not to have to do it again, thx)...but was not terribly moved during Pure Imagination, because I have an irrational fear of oompa-loompas. They creep me the hell out, and I just couldn't stop thinking about them :) The kids sounded amazing, though.
