ha, I got an email from Amazon UK about free postage to Australia and NZ on some orders above 25 quid - gotta wonder if Book Depository is taking a bit of a bite of Amazon's market with their free world-wide shipping?
I seem to be in a minority for this episode, because I enjoyed it. There were definitely some pacing problems, particularly early on, but I laughed, I listened to Bieber songs for the first time, and I flailed at the show doing a song I'd hoped they'd do but never thought they would - (My Chemical Romance's Sing. While it wasn't as epic as it could have been (it should have had more emotion, been in response to something, not just another performance number) but I thought they didn't fuck it up. I like that Sue knows MCR's music, I'm now imagining her wearing Frank-style makeup, circa 2005. While in a tracksuit. I really enjoyed Mercedes and Rachel's diva-off, especially the way they got into it and were so happy and huggy by the end
I did miss Kurt (Sue's little "Sweet Porcelain" comment nearly killed me), he needs to be back at McKinley so we could have had his reactions to the Bieber Experience, the fashion trends and the diva-off. Even when he doesn't have a plot, his reaction faces are priceless. But way better to leave the audience missing Kurt than to shoe-horn in a pointless Dalton scene.
And of course the others were right to vote down Rachel's original song suggestion, what the hell? Whether Sing was good enough or not isn't the question, whether anyone in the group has any songwriting experience/talent is the question. But you just know that they'll have to change the Regionals set-list at the last minute (if they keep Sing in, after knowing that Sue is coaching the competition, I will scream), and Rachel will pull out her song, and she and Finn will have the leads and everyone else will sway in the background with less to do than Kurt in a Warblers number, except for Mercedes who will get to wail at the end, and then Rachel and Finn will make eyes at each other. If it doesn't happen like that, I will...I can't think of what I'll do, but it doesn't matter, cause that's what's gonna happen.
Gabe icon because I was confused by Glee seeming to tell me that purple hoodie = Justin Bieber thing. I can only associate them with Gabe, so that creates very bad mixups!
