I never got around to posting about Furt and Special Education (major reason was I was too busy getting annoyed by people being WRONG ON THE INTERNET about Kurt). Short version, on the whole, I liked the episodes, though they were as flawed as most of Glee is. Sue's wedding was a total waste of time and Carole Burnett (apart from the Ohio duet with Jane Lynch), but at least there was awesome Sue-and-Kurt interaction to make up for it (Gelfling? Porcelain?) But maybe I need to check out Bruno Mars, cause I've never heard his songs before, but loved the use of both Marry You and Just the Way You Are (though would it have killed them to fix the song so Finn wasn't calling Kurt a girl?)

They're serious about the parallels between season 1 and 2, aren't they? In 1x09 Wheels, Kurt and Rachel do a not-duet of Defying Gravity. In 2x09, they do a not-duet of Don't Cry For Me Argentina (again, couldn't Kurt have sung boy not girl?) However, everyone knows that the Hipsters should have won. Rachel&Kurt bonding for the motherfucking win!

Anyway, Christmas ep...OMG I'm gonna need an icon of Kurt and Blaine from "Baby It's Cold Outside". That was ridiculously adorable and flirty and ♥ Also, totally added on cause of the success of Teenage Dream and how much interest there's been in BICO, I don't believe that was originally in the script, given how isolated it was.

I'm not sure I've ever heard the song before, but that's par for the course with a bunch of the Glee songs this year. I can tell I'm gonna be listening to it a lot though, their voices sound so good together.

Argh, they are being such teases with how they are drawing this out. On the other hand, it's getting the most build-up of any of the kids relationships outside Finn and Rachel, so it's nice that they think it's worth the build. We're definitely gonna need some more character development to Blaine too, if they're gonna keep around in a meaningful way, we need to see him shaken up and not so in control/buttoned down.

It did feel a little abrupt that a) Kurt was owning up to being in love with Blaine and b) that'd he'd tell Will. The interaction between Kurt and Will was sweet, including the way Will asked about Blaine - at least Kurt's exile is bringing him closer to people like Rachel and Will, odd. It's amazing how Kurt doesn't look all that short when he's only interacting with Blaine and Will, and no Finn around.

On the whole, I was generally pretty entertained by the episode, lots of funny bits and some cute, sweet moments (though seriously, they are writing Brittany as so infantilised/developmentally delayed that I'm squicked by her being sexually promiscuous). And did we really need two sadpanda!Rachel songs, mooning over Finn? Frankly, the relationship does neither of them any favours, the way its written most of the time. Nice to see Finn try to be the leader that he wants to be. Sue's present to Will made me laugh, and cut through the treacle of the scene (though it made me sad that apparently Kurt is stuck at school for Christmas, or wasn't invited to the inappropriate gathering at their teacher's place).

Can't the Glee kids use their awesome singing powers to get money from people with more to give than their teachers? Though Finn's opening address was hilarious ("neverending nightmare of pain").

Only seen Furt so far (what the hell channel 10? I thought you were sticking with new eps). I liked it a lot more than the previous 2 episodes and at least wasn't bored. And that would be mainly due to being Kurt-centric, plus my love for his father.

But yeah, the Sue storyline was beyond bizarre (but I did like the Ohio duet despite myself) and Carol Burnett's face is beyond beyond bizarre.

I think I've worked out my issue with this season. First season basically the A plot was sectionals/regionals and getting ready for it. Everything else was B/C plot. Now everything else is A, B & C plot, and getting ready for sectionals/regionals is lucky if it scrapes into D plot. I miss the music joy I got from first season. Not even interested in getting the next cd because the few songs I loved this season aren't even on it.

I doubt Ten are gonna show high-rating programs like Glee during the non-ratings period. Do you want download links?

The plots are mostly a fucking shambles, and a bit of the music is falling flat for me, but sadly, this is still the show I most look forward to. Can't believe the next episode is 9 weeks away!

10 were intending to continue with new Glee, they'd even announced it. They showed Furt and then pulled it, which is silly since there's only 2 eps remaining at the moment.

I downloaded Special Education today and watched it. I enjoyed it, felt more like season 1. Lots of music I liked, and I love Kurt and Rachel's non-duets (and I'm just a sucker for Broadway musicals).

I agree with most of what you said (as usual!), but I have to disagree a little bit about feeling like Kurt's admission of love was rushed. Only because, I guess, Kurt probably doesn't have anyone that he sees from day to day that he can tell things like this to and I would think that seeing someone familiar, even if it was his teacher, may be enough to get him to spill his guts. (Still not sure why that person isn't Mercedes..... she COULD TOTALLY VISIT, I'M JUST SAYIN'!)

On other news, I am loving Finn lately.

The really sweet thing about both the Will scene this week and the Rachel scenes, especially at Sectionals, last week, is how relaxed and happy Kurt is. It's unstressed Kurt with his defenses down, around people he normally isn't like that with.

I think some of it is actually OOC, in that Chris Colfer is so happy when he gets to see his regular Glee family during his exile in Pasadena ;)

IT'D STILL BE NICE TO SEE HIM WITH HIS BFF (OR STEP-BROTHER).

Two thoughts: Will, have you never heard of a phone???? You went all the way to Kurt's school to ask a simple question!?! (I Know the answer to that is just DRINK, which is the answer to any question about why the Glee world makes no sense.)

Also, I was really upset Kurt didn't show up at Will's house on xmas eve with everyone else, but I think maybe the show is keeping him really seperate from the whole Glee group so any time he does return to all of them it will be a bigger deal than it would be in a scene like that. It seems silly he'd not be there, but I get it in the grand scheme.

Do you know what I want for when Kurt returns? For Finn to come into rehearsal and say that there's a new student who wants to audition for New Directions, and for them to trot down to the auditorium and for it to be Kurt, with a heartwarming song about how he loves his raggedy glee family (where, even if he gets no more solos than at Warblers, at least he isn't stuck in a uniform the entire time). And then Mercedes will freak out, and Rachel will get teary, and Puck will pretend not to care, and Will will survey them all in a grouphug with pride.

But I kinda hope Lauren stays.
