Hahahahahahahaha.

Dear Ryan Murphy and other writers whose names I've forgotten,

While the audience may enjoy you addressing lingering issues from last season, perhaps, just perhaps, it could be done slightly more organically and unobtrusively than simply copying and pasting arguments from TWOP threads straight into dialogue?

I'm serious, that was every debate I've seen there (and elsewhere) about the the fight between Finn and Kurt, plonked into the middle of this fairly entertaining episode. Including having Burt find out that Kurt had a crush on Finn.

And then they tacked on a lovely scene and song between Rachel and Kurt, will either make people happy, or ENRAGE the Kurt fans who hate Rachel AND the Rachel fans how hate Kurt (I think there's slightly more of the latter, but my sample size may be too small).

I liked Sam not wanting to take the easy route and refuse to sing with Kurt. And that Kurt knew that he'd bleached his hair.

The whole Brittany/Artie thing could have been good, but devolved into a total mess that I don't really want to think about.

I LOVED TINA AND MIKE'S DUET! The only thing better was his earlier comment about not even being sure if he could sing. It should have won, or Mercedes&Santana. Sam&Quinn was charming, but not as entertaining. I really hope we're supposed to think that Rachel and Finn were completely up themselves by assuming they'd win, cause their first duet was only okay. Second duet was appropriately wtf-inducing though. And it's so nice to see them working as a team and not making me want them both off my screen all the time.

Burt continues to be awesome &TheHummels;

Oh man, I only just realised...Kurt Elizabeth Hummel has to be a "Producers" reference right? Or am I missing something because I've never actually seen Victor/Victoria?

Overall, a good solid episode. Here's hoping they continue to improve. ETA: and it was entertaining without Sue! Who knew a Jane Lynch-free Glee ep could be that? Probably helped that there was minimal Will.

ETA(2): OMG I didn't click til I saw it pointed out that Kurt fucked up his Singing in the Rain reference! Make 'Em Laugh is not a duet, it's Donald O'Connor solo. He duets with Gene Kelly on Moses Supposes and Fit as a Fiddle (and then they have a musical threesome with Debbie Reynolds on Good Morning - a total Ot3 scene). Singing in the Rain is my all-time favourite movie musical, can't believe I didn't notice that faux pas.

Tina and Mike's duet was epically wonderful, and felt the most 'real' of all of them (not autotuned to hell, like some numbers are)

I agree with all of the above (though I still go check my mail in the Rachel/Finn scenes), but I came back in the first of their duets just in time to see the actually drummer give Finn the death stare of death as he handed back the sticks. It was totally "bitch, gtfo my drumkit."

It was a thing of beauty :D

(and ETA2 - i thought he was just listing golden age songs, not duets?)

I just checked, Sam says something about duets being between a guy and a girl, and Kurt says that Gene Kelly and Donald O'Conner would disagree *pause* Make Em Laugh? Singing in the Rain? 1952? etc etc

I can't believe no one caught the mistake, everyone involved should have to watch the movie several times over.

(And then they need to work at least one song into an ep at some point, having now taunted me by mentioning it. And Mike could do the Make Em Laugh routine!)
