supernatural season 5

erilynNot that anyone will care, cause I'm the lol latest in the world, but I feel like rambling about this.
So, I finally watched the second half of season 5 of Supernatural. And I made it this whole way without being spoiled! If I were offered the choice of only watching either a show about Sam and Dean, or one about Castiel, Crowley and Bobby, I think I'd have to take the latter (not that I hate Sam and Dean, but the other might be more entertaining, especially if it involved Cas opening a bookstore. Or liquor store.)
I was getting such strong Babylon 5 vibes at times, I totally expected Dean to scream at both Michael and Lucifer to get the hell out his galaxy. Was annoyed by seeingSam Lucifer Jared Padalecki at the end of the episode, not sure why. Just felt the voiceover would have been enough, or the light going out if they must. Was just speaking with my sister, and she agreed that seeing him made the ending feel really flat to her too. When Dean got the crap beaten out of him by Lucifer, I may have been saying "his face! his valuable face!"
I actually squealed out loud when I saw Death. There may have been flailing.
Same when we saw Ash. OMG that was awesome. Speaking of which, the last episode I watched close to airtime was Real Ghostbusters, didn't like it, and then got spoiled for Ellen and Jo dying in the next episode and was so pissed off about that plot development that it's taken until now to start rewatching. But they're not dead, right? (this is a rhetorical question, I'm spoiler-free) I mean, if not actually seeing them die on-screen and/or seeing the bodies wasn't enough, Ash hasn't seen them in heaven. If they set that up and then don't bring them back, I'm gonna be really fucking pissed off.
It took me a moment or two to recognise Michael Shanks in his episode. I was totally slashing him with his non-believer best friend - that's the real reason the wife killed him.
Was it just me or did Dean's dialogue get even more sexualised in the latter part of the season? It was all "blow me Cas" and talking about his ass.
Poor Adam - after Michael and Sam fell into the Pit, Dean was only talking about his brother (singular). Chuck ascending or being bodily assumed into Heaven or whatever the fuck happened also made jump in my seat. Well played, show! (ETA: Chuck = God? Okay, I must be stupid, cause that's not where I went, and I think I'm unhappy if that is correct). The montage of Sam and Dean to just the sound of the wind was really beautifully done.
While fast-forwarding through Hammer of the Gods, I almost quit watching the show for good.
In conclusion: Sam is, of course, an abomination.
