Does anyone want a 10% gift voucher from The Book Depository? I've got some to give away, but I have to give them your email address, and I'm not going to do that unsolicited :)

I get a 10% gift voucher if you then use it, but that's not my motivation - I like the site, and am just glad to share the discounts if anyone would find them of use. Details on the offer are here.

Val wrote the Wire in the Blood books. Someone at work said they were good, but I want another opinion before I purchase.

Got an email from book depository, but it was just gibberish.

I just sent myself one (to an alternate email address) and it came through okay, especially once I let it load images. Short blurb about the site and discount, and an image of a coupon which is a link to redeeming the voucher.

The terms and conditions mention August 31st, but I wasn't sure if that was for when I could send people discounts, or for using the discounts.

I've just had a look (cause I sent myself a discount at another email address as a test), and yeah, if you follow the link to redeem the voucher:

Terms and conditions
1. The Birthday discount codes can only be used once.
2. Discount codes cannot be used with any other voucher or coupon.
3. Discount codes can only be used at time of purchase and not retrospectively.
4. The Birthday discount code is only valid until 31st August 2010.
5. Discount codes are exclusive of any applicable VAT.
