erilynIt's kind of hilarious watching a soap that I'm betting has an actual budget (Emmerdale) after watching some which are run on the smell of an oily rag (One Life to Live) or less (As the World Turns).
There are actually extras in scenes at bars! Their outdoor scenes don't look like something from a student film! And did you know that when a character's in a coma, you could actually have the person appear to be on a ventilator? I bet if he'd needed brain surgery, they would have actually have shaved the guys head - crazy talk, I know.
And now twitter has gone crazy that there's gonna be a leadership spill for federal Labor. I WAS GONNA GO TO BED, PEOPLE.
ETA: dude, leadership vote is scheduled for 9am tomorrow. Fuck, we could have a new PM in twelve hours. We could have our first female PM in twelve hours.

Date: 2010-06-23 12:51 pm (UTC)This is so very different that it doesn't count as cheating - it's a coming out storyline, but done better than I've seen in a long time (can't think of a better tv one off the top of my head). Kinda dark, for a early evening soapie - self-loathing, violent attacks (by the main gay guy, not against him) and a suicide attempt.
