At approx 32 minutes through the episode, I have a question...

am I supposed to feel bad that they didn't win? that Journey medley just wasn't as good as the Bohemian Rhapsody performance (though I wasn't totally wild about it either, and they shared the leads around even less than New Directions). That Journey medley was among the lesser group performances of the season for me. Everyone (apart from brief bits for Puck and Santana and did Mercedes get something?) were backup singers for Finn and Rachel, and the choreography was uninteresting. Probably doesn't help that I'm not really familiar with the songs apart from Don't Stop Believing.

ETA: Ah, at least Will acknowledges that maybe they weren't good enough to beat Vocal Adrenaline, but they should have come second. We didn't see enough of the other group to make that call, and I wanted to hear more of Josh Groban/Oliva Newton-John mashups.

ETA(2): okay, "To Sir With Love" is really really pretty. And we actually get to hear more than just Finn and Rachel! I don't think Will is that great a teacher, but whatever, it's sweet. OMG what the fuck is Kurt wearing?

ETA(3): Sue is totally saving this episode for me.

ETA(4): This version of Over the Rainbow is making me think of that legendary show, Young Americans, and the incredibly homoerotic ending as the two boys run away together to someone's beach house (or something) while that song plays.

ETA(5): ugh, Rachel's mother adopting Beth rubs me the wrong way. I'm not saying Quinn should have kept her, but seriously?

ETA(6): so are Finn and his mum still living with the Hummels? Or did they move back out when Burt went off at Finn?

WHY DOES THIS SHOW FILL ME WITH EQUAL AMOUNTS OF ENJOYMENT AND ANNOYANCE?

WHY DOES THIS SHOW FILL ME WITH EQUAL AMOUNTS OF ENJOYMENT AND ANNOYANCE?

TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH, BUT SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW MADE UP FOR EVERYTHING BECAUSE MATTHEW MORRISON OWNS ME PUCK AND SCHU HARMONISING IS REALLY REALLY PRETTY

See, my annoyance with Will keeps me from being easily won over (though that might be my favourite song from him - THEY HAVE TO STOP HAVING HIM RAP!)

On the other hand, I'd probably forgive Kurt almost anything because Chris Colfer is the cutest thing ever. His interview with Jimmy Kimmel was HILARIOUS.

Shelby adopting Beth skeeved me out. I don't understand her and Rachael anyway. You don't just walk away from your child. (I'm not talking about Quinn here, or Shelby when Rachael was born. Whole different thing.)

Which brings me to Quinn's mother. I think what she did to Quinn was unforgivable and she only left her asshole husband because he was having an affair, not because she wanted to stand by her daughter.

However, Sue and To SIr, With Love saved it all for me.

I hope there's follow-up to Quinn and her mother, cause Quinn did not look impressed (and quite rightly) by her mother's "I kicked your dad out for hurting me, not for hurting you, but you should come home now" story.

How fucking dare Shelby pursue Rachel (in violation of the agreement with Rachel's dads) and then be "oh, you've had a life without me, this is too hard, we can't build a relationship as adults" and reject her?

Someone writing on that show has some Mommy issues, that's for sure. At least some mother/daughter issues.

Sometimes writers' issues are pretty obvious. Like Babylon 5, where every single male character talked about their father really significantly, and pretty much never mentioned their mothers.

I think we were supposed to be sad not necessarily that they didn't win, but that they were going to lose Glee club, because that was what winning or placing represented for them.

I love pretty much everything about Glee, but I have to agree with you about Kurt's hat. until they started singing, sailor cap was totally stealing that scene from Rachel.

I was definitely sad for the kids during the emotional scenes before and after Regionals, but I'm harsh, and I was kinda bored during their performance.

That hat was just...there were other things happening in that scene? :)
