ok, I'd read it (and hopefully people will write it).

I can see myself wanting lots of Sam/Callan fic.

OMG LINDA HUNT! I LOVE YOU!

I'm hopeful that this is an ensemble cast that will work well together, I can see myself getting fond of the team.

What happened to their boss who was in the NCIS eps, and who is in charge?

Could they give Callan an angstier backstory? It made my sister and I laugh, it was so over-the-top. HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HIS FIRST NAME IS!

Apparently Louise Lombard's character did not test well with viewers, so they just omitted her entirely from the series itself. I'm kind of bummed, because I had such major major Mace/Nate shipping going on in the back of my mind.

Seriously, Callen's thing is STUPID. If he was found without a name as a small boy someone would have used the initial to give him a NAME, for crying out loud. Be more over-dramatic and ridiculous, writers!

I want so much everyone/everyone fic for this show. Seriously, everyone was GAZING ADORINGLY at everyone else.

GSF for the win!

hmmm, that acronym takes on new meaning with Callan. And seriously, I said the exact same thing to my sister re the initial thing. He would have been called Gary or George or Gerard (heh) or something.

I liked her character apart from the backstory with Gibbs, that bored me.

How pretty are the tech guy Eric and the new guy Dom? damn.

I was just relieved they didn't make her backstory a failed love affair with Gibbs, but the thing about his wife. I don't know, I am in favour of Linda Hunt, who seems to have come in as the strong female/comic relief character, but I wish we could have had Mace. Or one other female operative rather than just the ass-kicking lady from the pilot, who hasn't really been given a personality of her own in either the pilot or the first ep.

Tech Guy Eric is ADORABLE, New Guy Dom is hot but I didn't think much of his acting, if I'm honest.

Oh yes, I totally thought they were going there, and my eyes nearly rolled out of my head.

I didn't actually notice his acting one way or another, must have been distracted. But yes, would be nice to have another female field agent. As pretty as he is, couldn't they have made Dom a girl?

If they make Dom into the resident knows-everything super-intelligent big reader geekboy, I can live with that. Another girl would be nice, I agree, but this makes two characters of color and two women in a six-person team, which is better than most shows achieve.

I am SOO glad I am not the only one whose brain so easily went there.

I think they're doing it on purpose. TPTB aren't stupid, and they know one way to overcome poor writing (which this show has in spades, unfortunately) is to ramp up the buddy aspect of it. Sentinel, anyone? [grins] And this being the 21st century, the buddy aspect can now include open jokes about the "gayness" of the relationship*, not just extended eye contact and familiar nicknames and letting your anthropologist grad student partner move into your spare room. [coughs]

* but just jokes, because of course they aren't REALLY "that way", ha ha ha look how tolerant and open-minded we are, getting down with our bad metrosexual selves!** To demonstrate, here's a disposable woman! Enjoy her, she'll only be here a week. Then she dies/leaves/meets someone else/is abducted/switches to women. But she still TOTALLY COUNTS. And when she dies/leaves/meets someone else/is abducted/switches to women he'll go to his best friend's house for comfort and solace in the arms of his best friend beer and foosball and the game. (There's always a game. Have you noticed that?)

** This said, I totally don't care. Bring on the gay jokes and the couch-invitations and the game and the intense stares! It only makes the gay porn flow easier from my fingertips. [grins]

I really wanted Dom to be proved wrong about the grating assumption that because the guy in question was a big strong ex-Special Forces that he couldn't be the dead guy's lover. That was irritating, especially after the very matter-of-fact "Friend or lover?" routine that preceded it.

You are as right as a very right thing. And I had high hopes for that scene as well. [sighs]

NCIS does this too--after three episodes* in the first and second season, there's almost no gay people that make a prominent appearance. Now, I'm of two minds about gay invisibility on cop shows, because at least it means they aren't showing gay murderers/victims** all the time, but still. In four seasons, they don't find a single gay lover in the closet? Gay best friend? Gay child/parent/dogsitter? No one?

* The ones I can think of in all of NCIS are the McGee's lesbian friend who killed that woman, the commander who was in the closet and only gave his lover as an alibi to Gibbs under extreme circumstances, and the special forces guy who killed himself. So, one murderer, one victim, and one suspect.

** I really hate it when gay people are the murderers and/or victims--it always seems to be played on TV as more tawdry and sleazy and eyebrow-raising than the ones where straight people kill/are killed.***

*** wow, I really love footnotes, huh?

In other news, I absolutely freaking LOVE your icon. [flaps hands] He's such an adorable little woobie. SHE TOOK HIS LITTLE *SHOES*!

I also saw some really adorable footage of the actors (somewhere) having a photoshoot together and joking around. I swear that primed me to pay more attention to the characters' interaction :D
