Jul. 4th, 2009 07:38 pmok, so I'm a little tipsy at the moment, due to us having an open full bottle of wine to drink (due to epic miscommunication and misunderstanding last night when sister, brother and sister-in-law were over for dinner, and it totally wasn't my fault, okay?) and we haven't eaten dinner yet.
Got some study done today, not quite as much as I'd like though. I suck.
Don't think I mentioned that not only am I studying again, we're having major renovations done - the kitchen and living room are getting completely redone, for the first time since mum and dad built the house. They start on Tuesday, but we're busy packing everything up, and still have a bunch of cupboards to do. This is gonna be not fun. I had pnodered moving in with my sister, but that's a whole lot of effort I haven't got around to doing.
Andy Murray losing makes me want to re-watch "Wimbledon", I love that movie. I'll probably overcome my Aussie instincts and cheer on a Brit - if one ever makes the final again, ever.
seriously, two glasses of wine should not my head go WHEEEEEEEE!
Sister and I had been showing my brother and s-i-l some holiday photos, then he had to go help dad move the fridge, so we stayed in the study. and I ended up playing some American Idol performance cliops at her (= sister in law), and she was instantly shokced that Adam didn't win. And my sister has enoyed the Adam and Allison and Kris music I foisted on her. The family that fangirls together stays together :D
oh, and ~~drama~~ in our street. Thurday night, our neighbour V comes over to tell us that the light is on inside dad's car (parked out on street). Dad goes to check this out while I chat with V. While dad is doing this, a 4WD pulls up, and some guys get out and talk to dad. V and I were both suspicious of this, and wander out closer, to loom menacingly (ok, she'd have a slight chance of that, as she's 6 ft tall, me not so much).
But it turns out they were from next street over, driving around because two cars had been broken into, and someone had been in dad's car too (we think it wasn't locked, because there's no sign of forced entry, but nothing taken). About half an hour later or so, we have cops (that people from other street had called) stopping by to take a statement, and saying they'd put job down for techs to come look at (but didn't think it was likely, and we understood).
Next morning, forensics guy is at our place at 7:30am dusting for prints, wtf? Plus, ambulance is in the street, and we still haven't found out which neigbour it was for :( We live in a little dead end off a dead end, shit never happens here.
I was wondering if they had a suspect in mind, hence the suprisingly fast police + forensics involvement (for minor crimes), there's been a bunch of B&E and similar stuff in our suburb in last few months. But rumour has it that one of the people in the other street, who had a car broken into, is a cop, and all becomes clear ;)
