OM NOM NOM NOM
Apr. 11th, 2009 11:14 pmInspired by friends posting their awesome pictures of beautiful rainbow cakes,
hnix and I were determined to give it a try. This was an A++ life choice :D
A far superior use of my time than watching NSW play abysmally and lose to the Bulls, which was how I spent the evening *sigh*. I fed cupcakes to the family in the car afterwards, to cheer them up.
The mixture was actually coconut cupcakes, which was very tasty, but did make for an interesting texture with the colour in it. For the record,
hnix is a freak who doesn't like tasting raw cake mix - which is the best part of cooking!!!

It was harder than we thought to get the mix into the cases in an appropriate combination.

And they were the coneheads of the cupcake world!

But turned out pretty damn awesome nonetheless :)

We made up some lovely coloured coconut to use in decoration (and then didn't use it much, heh)

Decided the delicious white chocolate cream cheese icing wasn't going to sit well on the pointy tops, so cut them off.

Then sprinkled some coconut on and stuck the tops back on, upside down (mismatched to the cakes) because they were too pretty to waste.

We got some really lovely patterns - cutting them open was so exciting!

We had way too much icing, and because we were on a total sugar high by this point, it made sense to throw the coconut into the icing and see what happened.

Unfortunately, it was this.
