I don't have access to my webmail from work :( And yet my co-worker was surfing ebay at lunchtime. Oh new workplace, your web filtering is a strange new world for me.

The refilled-daily jar of Arnotts cream biscuits in the kitchen is both a delight and tribulation. I heroically avoided cake today. This job could be very bad for me...

Deep Discount sent me parts of an order I made (on June 9th) on the 11th, 13th and 14th. I placed another order on June 22nd, and they posted it on the 26th and 27th (I'm not a complete spendthrift - there was a good special, and they include stuff ordered for my sister, and presents for dad - which are way late by now).

So far, I've received the shipments from the 13th (last week sometime?) and the 26th (today - complete Due South! Dark Angel s2! Whisper War!). So a package can get here in a week, but after 3 weeks, still no sign of packages #1 or #3? Fuckity fuck fuck.

Also, Amazon UK managed to get half my order (a set of Enid Blyton books for my little cousin ) to me in 4-5 days. I was in shock at how fast they showed up. But my season 3 Dr Who dvds shipped two and a half weeks ago, and still no sign. Their own estimated date of arrival was June 23rd.

I finally saw the season finale of Bones.

...

I think I'm just gonna pretend that didn't happen. WTF?

At least that's one show caught up on - still trying to avoid NCIS and House spoilers as I haven't finished the season of either.

I received some Tivoli software two weeks ago, addressed to the person I replaced at work. I couldn't find out who had ordered it, or why, and no one knew anything about it. Contacting IBM, I found out that the software was ordered in 2005.

2005

Did they only just send it, or has it been travelling the world for three years?

I'm not sure, but their address as IBM doesn't actually exist, and the phone number on the invoice is for Dymocks. I'm guessing it sat there until the warehouse closed down or something and they got rid of everything that was hanging around.

Customs are watching your dvds! Yeah, I'm surprised that in my case something that was posted 2 days after the first shipment came first. And it wasn't even a small package which is what usually happens!

Oh, good point, package #2 that arrived first was a single book, no wonder it was speedy.

Today's arrival (#4) was a fair sized box. Though #1 will probably be a little bigger.

Apparently I can only receive the even-numbered packages...

Customs are watching your dvds!

This made me picture a little huddle of customs officers grouped around a dvd case watching it like it was about to do something. It wasn't until I clicked away that I realised you meant they were watching the actual dvd content...

Hehehe, now i'm picturing them. I always assume customs are using my stuff when it hasn't gotten here!

I stopped watching Bones three weeks ago, because I spent the better part of an hour of each Thursday yelling and HATING what was happening onscreen. And that was even before I found out what happened in the finale. After that, I just washed my hands of it. >:(

Whereas the House finale (House being a show I stopped watching after season 2) made me think about giving it another go again.

I'm still gobsmacked. WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING? I could write a more believable and interesting ending to that plot, while drunk, using madlibs created by turkeys!

I KNOW!!!!

It's annoying as all get out, even now more than a month removed it still makes my teeth grind!

for what it's worth, House and NCIS both had better finales.

I saw the final of Bones last week - although I had accidently spoilt myself before that. So because I knew what was going to happen I was watching for some sort of minor clues in the episodes leading up to it. Nothing!! My initial thoughts were that while they had it planned, the writers strike sent them into a frenzy to have the plot out before seasons end. I like to think if they'd had more time there would have been better lead up and y'know some actual tiny clues to get you thinking rather than just getting to the final episode and getting the 'oh hey by the way... '

It will be interesting to see the team dynamics come season 4.

Given how bad the writing was for the finale, I suspect they'll just never mention him again :(

Bones. I'm still furious! Each time I think about it I want to go kick something. It made no sense at all! No lead up! Nothing!

I saw lots of people WTF-ing over the Bones finale, but I figured it was a big cliffhanger or someone died.

I would have preferred that to what it was :(
