While out in the city today, I fell for the most awesome (kinda ugly) chucks - the design is a repeated motif of Rosie the Riveter (complete with We Can Do It slogan). But I didn't buy them, or the slightly more tasteful patterned ones either. Though I'm thinking about them...if only they weren't full price, dammit...

I am in such a SPENDSPENDSPENDMONEY mood lately, so dangerous. It's a good thing I got so unsure and indecisive about sizing, or I might have spent a shitload of money on the FBR store this afternoon. There's no way I'd fit into an XL in a girls sizing, would I? What would I be in an adult hoodie? Argh, too hard!

Pete Wentz fails in taking my money though - I was vaguely considering some stuff from Clandestine the other day, but shipping to Australia is just RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Well, he doesn't completely fail - I'm surfing Amazon looking for other things to order with the **** dvd.

When was the last time that Threadless did a sale? ::contemplates several shirts::

It's all the Aussie dollar's fault, for being so strong against the US$ at the moment.

I just edited in a link to a picture. If the dominant colour wasn't yellow, I probably would have bought them *g*.

The Converse NZ website is the Aussie website, where you can't order items, but it means that it might be available in your neck of the woods :)

Maybe one of the stockists could get it in for you?

I do try not to buy big brand shoes but I may just have to put my ethics on standby for those.

Thanks for the stockists - heaps handy (including one at the suburb I'm headed to this morning. Oh DEAR!

My friend has a "Rosie the Riverter" clock that her and her wife got as a baby gift ;)

In my last money spending boom, I would have bought the "Stay Gold" hoodie, *with* it ridiculously expensive postages, but alas, all but the extra smalls were sold out :(

Yeah, in my googling to find a picture of the shoe (which I'd overlooked on the official Aussie site), I noticed just how much Rosie-themed stuff is out there :)

They seem to have x-small at the moment (that and small is all they seem to have) *g*.

Yes, because maybe their target audience actually *isn't* model/scenester sized...

Yeah. Dear Pete, some of us have BOOBS AND HIPS! Please let The Academy Is know too (I love this but I don't think I'm getting my DD boobs into an XL girls top).

If you want something with Rosie the Riveter on it, I can thoroughly recommend No Sweat. Their gear is awesome and it's ethically made.

Yeah, in poking around looking for a picture of the chucks, I came across the No Sweat chucks-style shoes. Given their wide use of Rosie, I can only assume that this design from Converse is them striking back at their minnow-sized competition. Not cool.

Yeah, it's fairly crap of them. One of my favourite pairs of shoes is the low-rise No Sweat sneaker. They're really comfortable and well-made. The Rosie tshirts are pretty cool too, I'm thinking of getting one myself.

I shall have to check out a store that carries the No Sweat ones, see if they fit my (extra wide) feet. I feel the need for bright pink shoes...*g*

I think the One World Shop carries them. The sizes seem to be closer to men's and if anything, I think they're slightly wider than my Cons.
