Yay, they've finally put up the seating plan for Justin's Sydney show, and I would really love some advice from those who've been to this tour.

I haven't confirmed with my sister-in-law about whether we're doing GA or seating (though now I'm so tempted by the SexyBack Club Lounge GA, these either hadn't been advertised before or I missed it). But if we do end up going for seats, where would be the best areas to aim for? I'll probably end up taking whatever we can get *g*, but it'd be nice to dream.

Thanks!

I don't really want to spend the extra money and get the really close GA, do I? ARGHFLARGLE fuck. It's $180 for VIP GA vs $145 for GA or first tier seating.

** * ** *

I was surprised by something in the poll I did on Monday (theme: multi-album artists I'd been listening to at work).

I didn't know what to expect from the FOB results, though TTTYG 3, FUTCT 8 and IOH 5 seemed reasonable.

MCR was pretty much what I was expecting: Bullets 0, Three Cheers 5 and Black Parade 11.

Pink was the upset. Missundaztood was the clear winner on 9, and was her biggest album, so ok. But Can't Take Me Home on 4 (her first album, and so different to her others) really surprised me, I honestly thought it wouldn't get a vote *g*. Poor Try This only got 2, and I'm Not Dead did okay on 6.

I did GA at the first show I went to, and it was pretty fabulous. The problem with GA is that when he goes to the opposite side of the stage, you can't see him at ALL. So that kind of sucks. I don't think it's worth it to get the super close GA, aside from at the US shows, they had a full-service bar, so that's really nice.

I'm going to see him in Vegas, and we got seats for this one. I'm excited about the seats because we'll be able to see the whole stage. Drawback, of course--that we won't be super close. If you want to be close, GA is worth it, since it cost the same (at least here, it does) as first-tier seats.

If you opt for seats, try to get seats by the ramps. They go out into the audience and you have a really good view of the raised center of the stage, where he spends a lot of time, especially on the slow songs.

For us, the price difference between VIP GA and regular is only $35 - if that included a bar I'd be there like a shot ;)

Yeah, regular GA and decent seats here are the same price.

Thanks for the help :D

Oh man, take the awesome VIP then!! Here it was some sort of insane auction thing and it was *terrible*, people paid ridiculous amounts for the VIP section. At the show I went to, VIP wasn't nearly full and it was very easy to see straight over them. The really lucky people were the ones with barstools right on the stage. Plus, bartender!

I would suggest seating in the lowest possible level. That way, you can at least see. GA is all on the floor with none of the proximity benefit of VIP. It's a great show overall, so it'd be nice to be able to get the full effect.

My favorite spot is at the end of one of those longer ramps (section 10 or 20). Choreography extends out there and your view isn't obstructed at all by the side screens. Second favorite would be sections 15 or 5. There are screens, so you'll still see pretty much everything from everywhere, but, in my opinion, you should stay as close to one of those four sections as possible for the best view.

If we go for seating, which I suspect is most likely (I don't tend to be a big fan of GA), I'd definitely want first tier. Thanks so much for the suggestions about sections, that really helps :)

It's an extra $35 for VIP GA over regular GA or decent seating.

Then you might want VIP, but be warned that the stage is fairly high from down there. It's a different experience. I enjoyed it, but I felt like I missed parts of the show for trying to see directly. If you're only going to one show, I'd push for the seating. That way, you at least have the option of the full show experience.

I'm really not a fan of GA. You don't have your own piece of real estate the way you do with a reserved seat, plus you have to get there early to stake out your little claim, and stand for hours before even the (potentially bad) opener. Also, you can only get so close with GA, anyway, so you've invested all that time with nothing to show for it if he's on the other side of the stage.

No, I'm not a big GA person, and I suspect my s-i-l will prefer to get seats too. It was really only the expensive GA that suddenly piqued my interest *g*.

Must talk to her at some point and confirm things!

Nah. If you've got the $$, check out those barstools when they go on sale. They're not cheap at all, but they're reserved seats in VIP, right along the bar he likes to walk on. Wherever you are, make sure you look for my favorite Timberfreckle.

And now I'm really going to bed. And I reallyreallyreally love him.

*is still coming down from last night's show*

Charlie, Becca and I were sitting in the Manchester equivalent of block 2 on that seating plan. Get the lowest level you can without it being GA, because most arenas the lowest seating is still about a foot higher than GA. We got a fantastic view of the stage because we were the first row of lower tier, which meant that we could see riiiight over the heads of GA without anyone else blocking us. Well, the bodyguards did, but that was because they were big and standing right in front of us.

However! First row of lower tier is also where they put smoke machines, so watch out. We had one right in front of us, and [livejournal.com profile] _ducks said at one point we looked like we were put on fire.(The smoke also obscured our view.)

For added fun, we were sat right at the end of block 2 of your seating plan, next to the aisle between blocks 2 and 3, which led to the stage door, and that's how we caught sight of the band/dancers/roadies/Jessica Biel/Timbaland and his hoochies/bodyguards.

But! I think you should aim for blocks 10 and 20. Those runways are built INTO the blocks, taking up about six rows of space. Justin and his dancers do a lot of stuff on the runways, so that'll probably be your best bet for getting close to him without fighting GA.

Oh yeah, if we get seats, I want the best first-tier seats - that I can get *g*.

So you vote seating over VIP GA? It's $35 more for VIP.

But if VIP GA means the barstools, by all means GET THE FUCKING BARSTOOLS.

From: [identity profile] cutietootie99.livejournal.com
The barstools where more than the regular VIP which is different than just GA. Here, GA went for $99 to $150 and VIP went from $150 to $175 and the barstools went for $500.

Date: 2007-08-17 05:27 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] erilyn.livejournal.com
OUCH! Only time I've seen $500 tickets here was for Boy From Oz with Hugh Jackman, for the first 11 rows on the floor (though I'm sure there have been other times too).

From: [identity profile] erilyn.livejournal.com
I don't know if we're having barstools, thought that would rock.

Shit, just discovered that VIP GA is only two tickets per transaction. And I think there's three of us going. That might answer that question.

I think VIP is totally worth it. He is RIGHT THERE! It is way better than GA where you have to stay all night or lose your spot. You can come and go in VIP and not have to worry about it, because at most you will be 4 people off the stage.

However, the view from the seats is great as well.

But it'll come down to what my s-i-l and her friend wants to do too (unless I ditch them and go solo *g*).

Do you seriously want to go to Justin? Cause that would be AWESOME!

I'm still trying to decide between seats (see whole show!) and VIP GA (see parts of show really close up!)

From: [identity profile] tapedeck.livejournal.com
Dude, yes! I've never been to a pop concert before; and now I'm all about sparkly things and going 'EEEEE!'

I'm willing shell out about $175 max. I spent twice that on Boy From Oz and saw barely anything all night, so seeing stuff is good.

LJ is not sending me comment notifications, I'm not ignoring you!

OK, I'm still trying to decide between whether I want to do seating (better view on whole shebang) or try getting up close and personal. I'm like pffft! to the money difference at this point :)

$145 for seats (and regular GA, but ptooey to that)
$180 for VIP GA

Check out the other comments here and the seating plan and let me know what you think.

BUT YAY! JUSTIN GIVES GOOD CONCERT!!

VIP is great. Definetly get those. I went twice and I got to touch Justin the first time and the second time, which was Saturday, Timbaland came into VIP and I danced with him and got a pic. So cool.

If you want seats, then sections 10 and 20 are where to be.

Also, here they released the vip tickets through an auction first and then they didn't open anymore til the week of the show. If you really want VIP, you may have to hold out til last minute. Buy regular seats or GA anyway and then sell them once you are album to get VIP. The shows I went to, the VIP was never sold out because people didn't know about it til last minute.

Nope, as far as I can tell, here the VIP GA goes on sale at the same time as all the other seats, and not through an auction.

I'm so torn, but have to talk to my s-i-l about this anyway :)

I'm torn about Justin. I really dont like his new album. Its quite sad. But It's Justin and hes going to be in my city. I might just get a seat.

From: [identity profile] erilyn.livejournal.com
Ah, I do quite like the new album, plus I know he'll do a fabulous show.

On the other hand, I could see FOB three times for the price of a VIP GA ticket to Justin.

From: [identity profile] not-nele.livejournal.com
I have no doubt his show will be fabulous. It's just the Justinness of him. Though I have never seen him live...

And now I'm wavering. Ok. I have to go. Otherwise I'd totally regret it.

And would you want to see FOB three times over Justin? *g* Their shows are just as choreographed in their own way.

I say go for LL ramp (sec 10 or 20) seats. From there you can see the whole show. I went to 4 shows during the first leg and I wouldn't want to do it any other way (although, I may be in VIP for a Vegas show in the next few weeks). If you're in GA you only see what's on that side. All other parts of the show will have to be seen on the backdrops or monitors.

Good Luck with your ticket buying. :)

Don't sell yourself short. Just keep an eye out for those sections and the ones on either side when tixs are released. I got single ramp seats for the last 3 shows of this US leg the day they went on sale and I had from people that got pairs at that same time. You'll be surprised what pops up for you. ;-]

Glad I can help. :-]

I'm looking for a seating plan for Melbourne because I just saw the ad that he's doing it in the round. Is he doing that for Sydney as well? Ticketek doesn't have the seating plan yet, and Rod Laver doesn't seem to have website. very odd.
