Six days away from the internet (oh, the withdrawals!), and I've had to go to ?show=p&skip=350 to catch up (communities will just remain uncaught up on, methinks). And by catch up, I mean skim, sorry.

Skiing was pretty awesome. Sunday - Wednesday we had lovely weather, there was loads of snow, and virtually no lift queues. I've never seen anything like it at Perisher. The longest queues were only about 5 minutes, and most of the time it was a lot less than that. I totally wasn't fit enough, but we had fun and nobody came home injured, so yay \o/ Yesterday and today the weather got yuck, so we didn't ski nearly as much, but this morning included making tracks on fresh snow (very wet, heavy snow, so you could barely turn, but still fun). Got loads of reading done too. And ate lots too - dinners are three courses (three options each time), cold and cooked breakfasts, and some lunches included too (that we manage to stretch to cover almost the whole week).

Had some bizarre vivid dreams, including one about finding the real upcoming Dr Who Christmas special on youtube, and it was actually a multi-doctor episode, with all the stuff about [guest star] being fake spoilers to distract from the real plot. Kept thinking within the dream, "is this for real? But I've watched it, it must be", and was quite disappointed to finally wake up. It also, or perhaps something else did, include a scene where Ianto was wearing Jack's uniform and Jack was in one of Ianto's suits, and I was all "yay, good fun scene". And then there was the dream last night where my sister rang to tell me that Nick Lea was at her office, and I was trying to figure out an excuse to go down there.

Thought we were going to die at one point on the way home - got caught in the worst hailstorm I've ever been in a car for. Luckily, dad was driving, and despite barely being able to see, we just sat behind the truck in front, hoping he could see (there wasn't really a good spot to pull over). Dad's never driven in anything like that either (way worse than the one I drove through twice in NZ), the noise of the hailstones hitting the car was deafening, and the road was getting pretty white. Went on for well over five minutes, maybe closer to ten. But despite the noise, not sure how big they were, as we haven't found damage on the car. We were then stalked north by thunderstorms to the east of us for the next hour, with an awesome lightning display.

This was after PANcakes were enjoyed - I totally recommend the pancake place in Bredbo, a tiny town about thirty minutes north of Cooma, if you're down that way. My sister and I shared a Mexican pancake and hotcakes with berries and maple syrup. And I bought a pretty blue scarf.

That hail storm sounds horrendous! I'm glad you had a good time though.

It was fucking freaky, I thought they were going to break the windscreen (but that was just the noise, they weren't *that* big).

It was a great break - when we weren't skiing, we were very lazy and relaxed.

My dreams, when I remember them, can be...interesting. I'd like to order more dreams along the lines of the one where I was watching Backstreet perform in a club and Nick and Howie were making out on stage ;)

I wouldn't mind more dreams like that myself :-)

Hailstorms are scary. And that one sounds horrendous.

But hoorah for skiing (and not breaking anything) and reading and eating and holiday! Totally deserved reward for doing so well on your exams!

My poor papa, he did very well in the hailstorm. If I'd been driving, I probably would have pulled over even if it wasn't appropriate.

I think I read about six books or so. It was so relaxing, cause where we stay is ski-in and ski-out, so we don't have to fuss with travelling up to the resort each day, or making our own meals or anything.

Oh that sounds like a fabulous place. Holidays are the only times I actually read books instead of fic, because I've got the concentration then.
