Dame Shirley Bassey covers "Get This Party Started" (in a James Bond opening theme-esque way). Just wow, and it's a gorgeous video.

I saw a production of Men at Arms (by Terry Pratchett) last night. It was very good, with the role of Angua apparently being played by Kirsten Dunst. Who knew she was such a Pratchett fan that she travels the world appearing incognito in small-budget productions of his work? (That's my theory anyway).

I loved how they did Gaspode the talking dog. It was a guy on stage with a dog puppet-type thing, and it totally worked.

ETA: and alasen showed us all her pokemons. Dirty dirty girl.

She should have done it as a redhead - I never imagined Angua as being blonde, somehow. It didn't even look like a wig!

I looked at my Guards Guards miniposters and it was the same Carrot, but definitely not the same Vimes (I don't know why you thought it was!). I should have grabbed a program to check out the other players.

Vimes was just so familiar looking that I assumed I recognised him from Guards, Guards, but he wasn't familiar in the role like Carrot was.

I was looking for my copy of Men At Arms this morning, and couldn't find it on the shelf, then found it next to my bed. I have no recollection of getting it out last night, so am very confused.

why is half the stuff they leak to Promosquad either a b-side that they're not going to release officially, or a half-finished demo? (At least, it better be. Good Lord.) Also, it's just mean to be leaking things in parts that we won't be able to hear for three and a half months. *makes grabby hands* Album!!!

Was that the production at the Seymour Centre? we saw that last week, and yeah, I walked out convinced that the actress who played Angua reminded me of someone famous. Kirsten Dunst? I can kind of see it. I didn't really like her take on the character though. And Gaspode was the best thing, it was done really well, and the guy had the perfect voice for it.

Yup, that's the one. At intermission alasen and iibnf and I were all "Kirsten Dunst WTF" but some friends of Al's didn't really see it until we'd commented on it. I thought she even had similar mannerisms to Kirsten, but yeah, not quite how I'd pictured Angua.
