I normally don't read spoilers, but since most people and media don't consider announced casting info as spoilers, I figured there'd be no way to avoid this anyway.

YIPPEE! Martha in Torchwood *and* in Dr Who, I can't wait :D

Oh man, Ianto is gonna flip, surely he'd have at least known Martha's cousin by sight at Torchwood 1? And Jack-and-Martha adventures, yay!

Yeah, I saw that earlier! I .... Have mixed feelings about it. I guess it's all going to boil down to what they do with her and her story line? I suppose? It could be interesting, though.

Given my overall disappointment with S1 of Torchwood, my expectations are very low for S2. They could have three episodes of Jack and Martha partying their way through Cardiff together to get over the Doctor, and I'd find it an improvement ;)

There was some good bits, but the character's incompetence and lack of continuity in characterisation (amongst other things) really dragged it down for me.

Because I am very very slow about making icons (I only recently made that huggy one of Jack from S1 *g*), and I have an aversion to sharing icons, so most of the time when people put lots up, I don't take them.

But I have rectified the situation, thanks to Livia :) Happy!Martha, because she deserves to be.

I'm happy about this for two reasons. Even though I don't love Martha as much as some, I do like her a LOT more than any of the females on Torchwood, so having her work with Jack will be awesome. And additionally, I'm excited to see what new companion comes along for DW. So this is good news all around!

Here's hoping Martha's screen time is at the expense of Gwen and Owen primarily ;)

Also, Martha totally needs to bring her sister along - Tish, meet Tosh (stolen from TWoP, I admit).

Also, I like the ties between Dr Who and Torchwood being kept strong - increases the likelihood of Jack appearing on Who again *g*.

And that is NEVER a bad thing. In fact, I like Who-Jack more than I like TW-Jack. :( But I'll still watch season 2 because.. it's JACK. And cheesy sci-fi is sometimes the perfect remedy to a crummy day.

I think most people like Who-Jack more than the emo-Jack we get on Torchwood. Another thing I'm hoping that's in the next season is that Jack will be more like he was on Who (and shags more people, preferably on-screen).
