Queen Mary and uni enrolments

I drove down around Cremorne this morning and took a gander across the harbour at the Queen Mary 2 docked at Garden Island (because it's too big for Circular Quay or to pass under the Bridge). That is a massive massive ship. Sydney Morning Herald has some gorgeous photos of it, especially from the pre-dawn arrival.
Then I went out to uni to do my enrolment.
OMG. That sucked so much.
It took over four hours, the vast majority of which was spent standing in very very long queues. It was one of the most badly organised things I've seen in a long time. I shall have to go out first thing either tomorrow or Thursday morning to organise my student ID card, as I couldn't take standing in another very very long queue again.
On the other hand, for both semesters, I've basically got the timetables I hoped for, which includes two days with no classes per week! \o/ I shall be able to fit in some work around classes, and not be quite as broke as I feared this year.
Semester 1 (14 hours)
Monday: 10am - 4pm
Wednesday: 9am - 2pm
Thursday: 9am - 5pm
Semester 2 (15 hours)
Tuesday: 3pm - 9pm (ick)
Wednesday: 11am - 4pm
Thursday: 8am - 4pm
(This is assuming I don't find the load too heavy, and drop back to three subjects per semester.)

Date: 2007-02-20 07:38 am (UTC)2 days off a week is pretty sweet. At least it's not like morning class, 3 hour break and then evening class. Schedules like that make me sad. That late night Tuesday kinda sucks though.

Date: 2007-02-20 06:44 pm (UTC)I'm so so glad that I'm not going to uni this year - I'm *so* poor at the moment coz I'm still waiting for an interview for a job that I really want, and it won't be open till 30thISH March! Grrrr.... Funny thing is, if I was at Uni I would be less poor!

Date: 2007-02-21 10:33 am (UTC)It'll be three days at uni, and one-to-two days at work, so hopefully it'll be a nice balance. Lots of study on weekends though, I fear.
