I'm no help. I haven't used it yet.

Also, here you go

It's so strange - VirtualDub and NeroVision fly like the wind on this machine compared to the old one, but VideoStudio is like molasses.

Yay, thank you!!!

Weird. I'm having issues with virtual dub. It won't recognise any of my TW eps, so I can't cap using it. Has also done this for a few of the SPN eps that I need to use for my vid as well. Is driving me insane.

Welcome. :)

That's weird too - I assume you've uninstalled and reinstalled etc? If I want to make Torchwood clips with the sound intact, I've had to fun all the videos through VD first, to get rid of the massive sound synch problems that result otherwise.

I'm wondering if I'm missing a codec or the VBR is fucked on the versions I have or something, because it won't even play them. I get no picture at all.

This may be a stupid suggestion, but my VirtualDub stopped working on some stuff yesterday (including not opening my TW files) and I fixed it by installing XVID codec (http://www.xvid.org/), which I've never needed to before. But there was a specific error message about lacking an XVID decoder in this case.

Looking at it, instead of just getting cranky, it looks like it's an audio codec problem. Have you got a copy of the mp3 codec? I think mine is lost to the reformat of the old hd and the link from Naomi's guide doesn't work anymore.

I've never actually installed one, so I'm not sure if I do, sorry.
