I watched an avi of my video project on the tv for the first time. And took a page of notes. Fortunately, mostly the notes are "loud", "soft", "trim this", "pixellated" with one or two "top of heads cut off".

Firstly, I don't hate it. I may have even enjoyed it. Still not sure how much everyone else will, but this is progress. The other day I wanted to delete it.

Secondly, the volume differences between different sources are as obvious as I feared. But I knew I was gonna have to spend a while increasing/decreasing a number of the clips.

Thirdly, what I hadn't planned on was re-making a bunch of the dvd-sourced clips. Many of them are so incredibly boxy-pixellated that they look worse than clips of much lower quality. I'm gonna export the file to mpeg2 and make a dvd, to see if the avi was the problem, but yuck.

By the way, I never responded, because I got a little busy (;) ), but I loved it! I didn't notice pixelation, but the audio thing was pretty obvious. Isn't there some program that will automatically adjust all the audio to the same level like some cd burning programs do? It seems like it would only make sense. Also, the version you sent me was a little SYNC-centric (not that I minded). I can't wait to see the finished product!

I'm not sure what the issue was, cause I hadn't really noticed it watching versions on the computer, but playing it on the tv I was "ARGH! UGHLY! MAKE IT STOP!"

two weeks!!!! wheeeeeee!!!

One of the reasons I've tried not to talk about it too much is that I don't want people getting their expectations up, cause then they'll be disappointed.

On the other hand, I'm still not hating it. I have such a up-down relationship with this project.

My expectations are high - but that's about the weekend and meeting you guys and being with people who really pop-squee. I'm just going to be bouncy about the footage - no matter what the vid is like (so no pressure from me 'k?).

Hell even just the thought of it - the time you've taken, your knowledge, and the undoubtedly pretty pics - makes me happy. If there are images of Chris looking cute I'll be a wallowing pig in muck.

AND YOU HAVE TO STOP USING THAT ICON BECAUSE MY WORK COMPUTER DOESN'T APPEAR TO ENJOY THE DROOL.
