File this under things I never thought I'd see - Nick Carter singing Ring of Fire (youtube link). Audio isn't great, but watchable. ETA: It and the original song are available on youtube via www.not-like-you.com

I hadn't paid much attention to the MySpace bulletins that people were discussing, but he did perform at the Brass Monkey in Marathon, Florida on Friday night. According to Not Like You, the songs he performed included: Just Want You To Know, End of Forever, Nights In White Satin, You May Be Right, Brickhouse, Sharp Dressed Man, Breakdown, Fly Away, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Play That Funky Music (on the drums), plus an original.

That's an... interesting set list. :D I LOVE End of Forever though. Don't I wish I'd seen that! And Breakdown? By Tantric? *puzzled*

I KNOW! When I followed the link, people at LD hadn't said what song it was, and it took me slightly longer than it probably should have to click what it was, because THAT WASN'T WHAT I WAS EXPECTING!!!

If you'd given me paper, that big ole book of all the songs ever done and all the time in the world to create a list of songs he'd choose to sing, I'd never come up with Ring of Fire. Ever. :blinks:

The Moody Blues! Billy Joel! ZZ Top! (ZZ Freakin' Top!) Man, I'd love to see a boot of this.

(The youtube seems to have been made private, sadly. Do you know if the person got the whole show?)

I didn't save - but yay! http://www.not-like-you.com/ has it and the original song (still as youtube files, alas). Don't know about more files, but damn, I'd give a fair bit to see more :)

Huh, my free-with-isp-account space must have crapped out. I've managed to upload it to my usual site and changed the link.

Nick singing Moody Blues songs...the Boy has taste :D

...but would "I'm Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band)" be more appropriate?

Weeeeeell, that might be a bit too open for mockery, given his pop background *g*.
