Hey, people who were at the Melbourne BSB soundcheck! According to the Aussie BSB list, that guy (Paul) who sang Nick's part of Shape of My Heart with the Boys? He's made the top 100 (or whatever) on Australian Idol. If he makes the cut to top 25 or whatever they do, I might even have to watch a bit *g*. Fucking Backstreet, it was Anthony Callea singing "Perfect Fan" that made me start watching part of S2 of AI, the only Idol show I've ever gotten into.

But per his myspace blog it sounds like he has already toured to promote an album, which means that he has signed a record contract. I thought you weren't allowed to have signed a contract to be eligible to be on Idol. But I don't really watch the show so I could be wrong, I just vaguely remember hearing something about it when one on the contestants got kicked out due to something along those lines.

It's a great concert, I wish it wasn't one of the last BSB dvds released though, why can't we get the Millenium/Black and Blue/Never Gone tours too? *sigh*

The guy who sang at the Soundcheck is indeed Paul Vercoe, who is a member of the group, Track5

Paul sings with BSB - Feb 06
Backstreet Boys stopped by Melbourne last Thursday. Paul from Track 5 had the pleasure of singing -Shape of My Heart- with them at the Melbourne soundcheck. BSB were so impressed Nick Carter offered him to take his spot in the show for the night.:) If we receive permission from BSB management we will be placing the video of the performance on the website.
