Celebrity - 5 years on

5 years ago today, Celebrity was released. It's my favourite Nsync album, and I just wanted to pop up a few things from around then. People probably have these, but I wasn't very organised.

Celebrity release party - Chris, JC and Justin sing bluegrass for E! - 6.5 meg

+ Road to Celebrity - listening to new songs - 11 meg
+ Road to Celebrity - watching themselves on MTV - 16 meg
Just a couple of days before the release, MTV did Road to Celebrity, which has so much wonderful stuff. Here's just a couple - them heckling their first MTV appearance, and previewing some of the tracks from Celebrity.

+ Leno July 2001: interview - 55 meg
+ Leno July 2001: performing Pop - 21 meg
This aired the day before, and is one of my favourite interviews.

+ opening of Pop Odyssey concert - 52 meg
From the San Diego bootleg, the opening and Pop. If people are interested, I can convert the rest of the concert, I didn't have time.

Five years. *shakes head* I started listening to them, and reading/writing popslash in January 2002, so I missed the release, but even so. And less than a year after Celebrity, we got hiatus. Meh.

I know, it's bittersweet to reflect on stuff like this. Wish I'd gotten into the fandom pre-hiatus too, though better late than never, I can't imagine not being in this fandom :)

I missed the whole NSYNC Celebrity/Pop Odyssey thing. I was going through the stuff and my music interest took a strange plumet. :( But I'm glad someone like decided to share de Lurve. :D

God those were good times.

The night of the release I was at the Virgin Megastore at Downtown Disney, surreptitiously eyeballing Bev and Chris's sisters and the Fatones, and Lance called in from LA. About a week later was the Tampa concert, in the rain.

I'm filled with melancholy nostalgia now. Five years. Thanks so much for this!

I just wanted to say hi and that I downloaded some of these things, came over from geneli4's journal. Oh, BOYS. Just random--I read Justin's interview in GQ today and I can't tell if this was just the interviewer's interpretation/bias/whatever, but she definitely made it seem like Justin is so down on Nsync, which is sooo sad.

That's why I always try to do a roundup of files before I delete them (though these aren't gonna go today or anything), it's so easy to miss stuff when it gets posted :)
