News from Beaconsfield Mine rescue - the two miners will probably not be freed until tomorrow at least. And Richard Carleton, veteran journalist with ABC and 60 Minutes, has collapsed at a press conference being held at the mine and passed away.

I know! I'd turned over to Sky News to try and catch headlines, and they had a bigass banner about him collapsing and being taken to hospital. Then shortly before I posted, they updated and reported that he had passed away. I never watched him a lot, but really not something you're expecting to hear.

I was so surprised by the news reports, of all the things you'd expect to hear from Beaconsfield, that certainly wasn't it.

I know! He asked a question at the press conference but left very shortly after the response, then collapsed less than twenty metres away. People did CPR and ambulances got there pretty quick, but he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
