Stargate: Atlantis 2x16
Jan. 3rd, 2006 09:35 pmBwahahahaha! Ok, so I've seen these Trek episodes before, but it amused me, and was fairly well done. My sister enjoyed it too. Especially Caldwell getting the dig in to Sheppard and Weir about the kiss, and Weir just sinking in the bed.
Though Rodney only thinks he might be in the chain of command? I really hope there is a proper organisational chart somewhere, but Rodney just hasn't been shown it to prevent delusions of grandeur. His reaction when he realised Caldwell was back was hilarious.
But since I love Caldwell (and I'm so glad he got de-Gou'alded!) and he's competent, I'm glad he stepped in.
Oh Ronon! He's gonna have such trust issues.
Guess this josses any stories featuring Ronon and Teyla being shown much tv (before now). Of course Rodney watches quiz shows, and mocks the contestants when they get things wrong.
Yay for Torri getting something to do!
The kiss also amused me, especially everyone's reactions to it. Rodney looked more perturbed by the "Sheppard cares for you more than you know" comment to Teyla than the thought of leaving Sheppard and Weir's bodies along to get it on (And since they were already ripping off many Trek episodes, I was totally thinking at this point that Sheppard and Weir should have sex and have little salamander babies!!!1!). Poor Rodney, his boyfriend's body was hitting on everyone.
Not so good bits? Ummm...the hunt scenes started to get a bit dull. And Weir seems to be getting given a get-out-of-gaol-free card for her actions in Critical Mass. And I'm afraid that since Caldwell a) came back and b) got to be right about stuff, that this totally means he's gonna die soon (I'm spoiler free, so this ain't one, and please don't talk to me about this if you do know spoilers, thanks!). It's just one of those irrational gut feelings common to those who love an underappreciated secondary character :)
Also, Rodney said Caldwell did a good job? And Caldwell took hope from this? Ah, Rodney+Caldwell4eva!!!1!
I've just saved a gazillion (ok, total exaggeration but a fair bit) of popslash and SGA stories and now my computer won't recognise my Palm! It was fine the other day!

Date: 2006-01-04 02:58 am (UTC)The pacing was off, and the rationale for allowing Sheppard to be possessed was non-existent, but I still enjoyed it more than The Tower *g*.
