lazy day of bliss

I'd love to get a copy of the Billboard magazine as a keepsake, but $10 shipping through the official site (making it over $A20 for the magazine) seems rather steep? And yet, I do not trust being able to find the right issue in Sydney, hmmmm.

Have had a lovely relaxing day watching four eps of SG1, VM and SGA commentaries and extras. Yesterday was fabulous, had a bunch of people over all afternoon and evening for a bbq and general catchup. iibnf, calemiri, edgehd, sinden, alasen, rosemending, engenda, eponymous, meelie and slashingthefox are excellent and hilarious company, and there was much food (and some rather nice wine) as well. But today was definitely all about the relaxing, especially as we'd taken the get together as motivation to get some serious tidying up done around here. And the traditional eating of leftovers.

Mmmm, leftovers.

Some thoughts after watching extras and listening to more commentaries:
* everyone loves David Hewlitt.
* they should all follow Torri and Rachel's example and drink during commentaries. I wish I loved Weir just a little of how much I love Torri. They should write in a planet of multi-armed hot alien men just for her.
* the writers and creators of this show are even bigger geeks than I thought.

Huh. I had a lot more thoughts at the time, but they were mostly "heeeee!". But yes, very entertaining. Only commentary I got bored with was the one for Defiant One and didn't finish it. Though I think there's another one I haven't listened to yet.

Am now caught up on SG1. It only occurred to me about four minutes before the end of 9x10 that it was going to be a mid-season cliffhanger too. Me so smrt. I miss Vala. How paralytic would you get playing a SG1 drinking game that included Teal'c saying "indeed"? I like Landry, but seeing Hammond in 9x10 made me happy. Speaking of which, why wasn't he in uniform? The outfits and framing of shots to hide Amanda's figure continue to amuse us greatly. Cancerman as a Prior is great casting. My absolute favourite scene in the last few episodes was Mitchell giving the SG1 badges to Sam and Teal'c. At last, he's been able to mark them as his very own!

Sadly, I have done exactly zero Christmas shopping (except for dad's present and it's probably not gonna arrive from Amazon in time, oops) and posted no cards. There are drunk 18 year olds screaming next door. Oh yay.

And why don't I have an SG1 icon? Must remedy. But not now, as I have loaded fresh fic onto my PDA and am heading for bed.

Keep an eye out for that Billboard issue in Borders. I know they stock them. :-) If I find one, I'll grab an extra.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I checked Borders in the city today, and couldn't see it at all (any issues). Am pondering getting it sent to me, since it'll cost at least $10-15 if I can find it here. Hmmmm.

Oh, commentaries!! Love those, but am so bad when it comes to watching them! Seriously, I have 8 seasons of Sg1, and you can count the commentaries I've watched on one hand! Also, must get SGA1, because, yes!!!! *nods*
