Veronica Mars pimp tape

Happy Mother's Day to all those that applies to :) We went out for yum cha (mum's choice), and we did a little bit of shopping afterward. The shopping is only noteworthy (apart from the cute top I got) because a guy collapsed near us in Myers. We were underwhelmed by the staff's response (bunch of fucking headless chooks), and my sister ended up helping out the guy's wife a bit. He was conscious and talking (a bit) when the Myers first aid people finally showed up, and we saw the ambulance team checking him out later.

My copy of the pilot episode of Veronica Mars is 4x3 and not as good quality as most of my other eps, does anyone have a widescreen version they could ysi or upload to my webspace?

I didn't even really notice til I'd made all the clips I wanted from it and had done most of the editing for them, and had moved on to episode 2, but I'd rather re-cut if it means better quality.

Looks like I can summarise the pilot and the setup for the show in a bit under 20 minutes (and that's still gonna be quite disjointed *g), so I'll add a couple of cute and funny bits from later eps and that'll be my pimp tape. It's not quite what I had in mind, but cutting it down was harder than I expected :)

Hey, can I ask - how are you clipping VM? Because I have tried to do House with vdub, but the DivX, it thwarts me.

I'm making clips of the bits I want using vdub, I do it on direct stream for both video and audio so it isn't compressed again at this stage. I'm then putting them together in PowerDirector so I can edit more neatly and make a dvd, but you can join them together in vdub using append.

How is it thwarting you?

Aha! Okay, I'll try that. I had it in full processing mode, and the audio was going out of synch...aaargh, no, it's still doing it. It tells me that it has improper VBR audio encoding, for every file I open. Crap. Maybe it's the version I'm using - are you using a higher one than 1.5.10? Or have you added on any audio codecs?

Oh, but hang on, there's an option to move the audio forwards or backwards. Hrmm. That might work. Fiddly, though.

I get that too, though the audio doesn't always go out of synch for me. My version is 1.5.4

Moving the audio back or forward is a bit fiddly, but effective, I've often had to do it when I've made files from an Nsyncland dvd.
