Stargate and Boys

I'm cursed. Some higher power is trying to prevent me from watching Stargate: Atlantis. On three occassions now, our timer has screwed up and we've missed the last twenty to thirty minutes of the episodes.

First time, I assumed I'd made a mistake. SGA starts at about 10:40pm here, so I was awake and started recording, then used one button timer record (you just keep pressing the record button for thirty minute increments). I thought I'd set it for 90 minutes, but figured I must have not done it right.

The next time it happened, using one button timer record again, I started to wonder if there was a problem with our vcr, cause I thought I'd been quite careful setting up the timer.

Then on Thursday, because I was going to be out at a party, I set up a proper timer, on the other video. I swear I set the timer from 10:38 to 11:55, but, yet again, we only got half the episode!

Once is chance, twice is coincidence, three times is a fucking curse! Luckily I have the eps on disc, so I can see the endings, but I'd prefer to watch them on tv.

Mostly Jane, Aaron and Bob, but there are mentions and older clips of Nick. That family is fucked up (hardly breaking news, I know), its really quite sad.

Oh no! That can't be. I know for a fact that the higher powers love SGA *g*.

Seriously, I hope you figure out what's wrong. It's cool to see it on your TV and while I absolutely hate the German dubbing I still have the TV turned on every Wednesday and watch it, because "OMG! John and Rodney are on my TV!" *g*

Although, technically, since I've got a divx/xvid DVD player I can watch the downloaded episodes on TV, but still. It's different! ;-)

Possibly the problem is me, but three times, twice when I was being consciously careful, is starting to make me wonder *g*.

I'd love to get a divx dvd player, but I'm gonna be spending enough on gadgets and travel soon ;)

*looks at your icon* Pffffffft, he is SO sweet. His *voice* is sweet. ;)

I think they gave Howie a sekrit signal to be quiet? He says a little tiny blurb before all the video retrospective and nothing after.

By the way: does Nick saying 'I went from 12-year-old boy to 25-year-old man' make YOU giggle? I can't think of him as a 'man.' He's a *boy*, and I don't mean a Boy. Just... heeeeeee. It always brings to mind Howie saying that the difference between a boy and a man is that he is a man, and Nick's a boy.

Nick is still such a boy in many ways, and that quote from Howie nearly killed me. I'd love to know if that's what he actually said, or if something was lost in translation *g*.

Isn't Stargate on channel seven? I swear they have some really weird liberal sense of timing. I've learnt that channel seven shows should always be taped 10 mins before the time they're meant to show and about 30 mins after the time that they're meant to end.

Seven can be very weird, but these weren't their fault for a change - each time, only about 30-40 minutes was taped.
