Ok, in the interests of trying to grow as a person, I should probably own up to a certain prejudice I have. Involving who I like to read slash about. And while I'm not the only one (as established by a quick poll of some friends on Sunday), that's not a good excuse.

Hi, I'm erilyn, I'm Australian, and I have a problem slashing Australians.

No, seriously. I almost never watch Australian-made stuff and think "they're so doing it!!!1!" (though this could be a function of how much Australian-made content I watch these days). It's like slash goggles just don't work. I wasn't involved in either of the only two significant Aussie-based fandoms that I can think of - DAAS (though I totally see it *g*) and Savage Garden.

This came up because I was thinking about Chiz (Aussie guitarist in the band The Academy Is...), and while he's cute and has fun interaction with the others, I would be all ARGH! to come across him naked in a bandslash story.

Please don't judge me too harshly. I will work on overcoming this.

Yay, they've finally put up the seating plan for Justin's Sydney show, and I would really love some advice from those who've been to this tour.

I haven't confirmed with my sister-in-law about whether we're doing GA or seating (though now I'm so tempted by the SexyBack Club Lounge GA, these either hadn't been advertised before or I missed it). But if we do end up going for seats, where would be the best areas to aim for? I'll probably end up taking whatever we can get *g*, but it'd be nice to dream.

I don't really want to spend the extra money and get the really close GA, do I? ARGHFLARGLE fuck. It's $180 for VIP GA vs $145 for GA or first tier seating.

I was surprised by something in the poll I did on Monday (theme: multi-album artists I'd been listening to at work).

I didn't know what to expect from the FOB results, though TTTYG 3, FUTCT 8 and IOH 5 seemed reasonable.

MCR was pretty much what I was expecting: Bullets 0, Three Cheers 5 and Black Parade 11.

Pink was the upset. Missundaztood was the clear winner on 9, and was her biggest album, so ok. But Can't Take Me Home on 4 (her first album, and so different to her others) really surprised me, I honestly thought it wouldn't get a vote *g*. Poor Try This only got 2, and I'm Not Dead did okay on 6.

(tldr) rambling about fannishness

It's funny, there are a lot of tv shows I watch (though not at the moment - oh, hiatus), but I haven't been tending to get involved in the fandom for them. I like to read some discussion, check out some fic for some of them, stuff like that. But I don't get fully into the fandom side, which is kinda sad. But sometimes I've found that the more I get into a fandom, the less I end up liking the show. It'd odd. I kinda miss it.

And I miss when you're that into a show, and you're counting down during the week for when it'll be on, and the new episode is like...it's like you're a drug addict getting a hit. I see friends flaily over shows (especially Supernatural), and I get sad that I'm not as into the shows. Well, I was for Dr Who (especially the last three eps *g*). But it does save a fair amount of emotional energy being that smidgeon less into it, so that's something.

So while I'm looking forward to the return of Heroes, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Supernatural, House, Atlantis, Torchwood (eventually), Bones (after inhaling the first two seasons in June/July) - I'm not desperate for any of them.

This might also have something to do with me (finally) falling head-first into bandslash. Cause it's not like my friends haven't been squeeing over it for like the last year and a half, or anything.

So, a (belated) warning, there's gonna be a high percentage of posts involving bands like Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, The Academy Is..., Cobra Starship and Panic! At The Disco in the near future. The falling has been occuring over the last two-three months, but I've reached a point with pictures and footage and stuff that I've got to post about it more. Cause they are squeealicious. And there'll still be stuff with my popboys, especially BSB since they are finally doing promo :)

So this lovely Friday night, I'm trying to throw off this fucking cold, and am saving Panic picspams. Damn Panic and their not-so-stealthy adorableness. And I might make some icons. Cause I NEED them.
