Advice sought
Oct. 23rd, 2004 07:58 pmI seek help from the collective knowledge and brain power of my friendslist! There are things that I want to do, and need recommendations on the best software for the task. I have done some reading up on this, but am still somewhat at a loss at what to do.
I want to be able to convert media files to dvd-format and burn them, as my dvd burner didn't come with software that could do this. I've got a trial version of Cyberlink's Power Producer 2 Gold, which seems straightforward, but maybe a bit limited and simplistic. What do people use to author dvds and/or convert mpegs/avis/other files to dvd format?
We also have a nice little digital video camera which also came with crappy software which only captures the video at quite crappy quality. I just tried capturing it using Cyberlink's Power Director 3 (trial), but while it captures bigger than the crappy original software, the picture quality still isn't anywhere near good enough to then burn to dvd.
Help?

Date: 2004-10-23 12:00 pm (UTC)But what I use for making dvds and converting files to dvd format is TMPGEnc DVD author, and TMPGEnc plus (for converting). Neither are free, but I got them... well, let's say as a gift, shall we? And I can pass them along if you'd like. I use online tutorials to figure them out.

Date: 2004-10-23 09:40 pm (UTC)Excellent idea! I should have done that before, cause really, the software and manual that came with this thing are useless.
If you could share the software, that would be great, thanks so much :) I've seen very good reviews of it.
