First off, I didn't check my email or lj for six days! I didn't even feel that deprived. I could have, but it just didn't seem worth the effort and $2/10 minutes.

Cause the snow was fantastic. Ooodles and oodles of the white stuff, and lovely weather for a lot of the time. Which is extra-nice as it was blizzarding for days just before we got there, and the weather was getting yuck when we left. We had 12 cm of fresh dry powder late Tuesday, which made Wednesday morning pretty special. It looked so lovely, snow sitting on the trees and on building roofs. I didn't ski too badly, and was even going pretty damn nicely on good snow on straightforward slopes towards the end. None of us injured ourselves, and we even skiied a black run multiple times (though dad didn't know it was black (=hard, green=beginner, blue=intermediate) until later, heh). Snow wasn't perfect, it was a bit warm at times, making things a bit mushy and cutup, but far far better than we often get here :)

We tended to crash early after dinner, except for trivia comp on Wednesday night, which we won for the second year in a row! We teamed up with a group of my aunt's friends who were there again, who we also ate with sometimes. Got some reading done (re-read Curse of Chalion, then read sequel Paladin of Souls for the first time, damn I love Lois McMaster Bujold's books; read the first in a new Eileannan series by Kate Forsyth, Rhiannon's Ride, which was pretty good; and started on A Brief History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson). Managed to catch enough highlights of the Olympics to keep us satisfied, and would ring mum before breakfast to find out about overnight results *g*.

I didn't drive at all on the way down (about a 5 hour drive), dad and my sister did it all, and I even got a bit of sleep (we left at 5am). I did drive the first leg of the trip home (about a 5 1/2 hour drive), from Bullock's Flat (where we leave the car and take train to Perisher from) to Bredbo (where we stopped for pancakes! I had the Mexican pancake, and it was sooo gooood *g*).

Completely buggered today. Almost dozed off while getting my hair washed (and scalp massage, mmmm) at the hairdresser's this morning (unlike the time I was jetlagged and did fall asleep *g*), and have put ten million items of clothing on the line. Would like to be social, but that would probably involve leaving the house, and I don't seem to have the energy for that. I do have 3 new Nsyncland dvds, 3 QAF eps, heaps of BSB footage, and a metric ton of OC eps to watch though...

Sounds like a fantastic week! I like skiing... well, I like to watch skiing ;-). I'd probably kill myself ;-).

I thought of you during the week. At the trivia quiz, there was a question about which alpine country has the highest accident rate, and it was Austria! (Where the manager was getting this facts from, I don't know *g*).

Hee! But highest accident rate when it comes to winter sports or in general? It's the tourists trying to ski, it must be (or people like me) ;-).

He didn't say, so I'm rather sceptical of the statistic *g*.

Ha! I thought I was the only person to have done this. *g* It was so embarrassing.

Luckily they've finally stopped teasing me about it :) It was the day I got back from Italy in 2002, I'd made a hair appointment so I had something to do that day.
