Prisoner of Azkaban
Jun. 10th, 2004 07:24 pmAnyway, my actual opinion of Prisoner of Azkaban,
I quite liked it. Better than the first two (though that's damning with faint praise *g*). Not enough Snape though. And by removing the backstory about Snape and the Marauders entirely, his desire for revenge is...odd. Maybe Snape just wants revenge on everyone. His hatred is global. I do think they should have either made more deviations from the book or less, either kept the storyline more coherent or made a tighter story for the movie. Good casting as always - I think I like Gambon as Dumbledore more, and Thewlis and Oldman were fantastic. I may have squeed at the "old married couple" line, butthere's no proof ok, I totally squeed. The Dementors were very well done, Buckbeak was even better, but I didn't like the werewolf cgi.
iibnf and I enjoyed the lack of people in the big, comfy cinema we saw it in - even the squealy teenage girls shut up after the opening credits. Oh, the closing credits are cleverly done, I liked that. We shopped for cosmetics before the movie, and got lovely hand treatments from one of the expensive counters in Myer. God, I love massages, I was practically drooling. I bought a lipstick, but not from them. Then we came back to my place, watching Making the Video of "Fighter" and some MST3K. And she hacked my journal. And I have no HP icon for this post. But there is a connection with this icon, and it's my newest one :)
