How would someone do this? The dvds are probably not macro'd, given that they aren't professionally made. Any advice deeply appreciated :)

I've had successes with DVD to tape just by hooking the DVD player output to the VCR input with my standard A/V leads. Granted, it's only been on pro DVDs, but I think that since the signal entering the video is the same, it should be ok.

Same way as you'd do video->video.

I've never actually dubbed vcr->vcr. When I was capable of dubbing, we had a double vcr :)

Pain in the frickin' ass it was. Still got it, it's in my room. I use it sparingly (and not for dubbing, or anything I want to keep), because last legs would be a flattering description :)

Huh.
yeah, as i think someone else said, you put the red white and yellow cords in the output of the dvd player and into the inputs of the video. And press play and record.

Hmmm...I may need to invest in some additional cabling. Thanks! :)
